Galia Lahav’s bride of the day is Doris Le Aguiar, a beautiful bride with an astonishing bridal experience to share! Doris wore the Dolce gown from the La Dolce Vita Collection and looked absolutely incredible. Our gowns are custom made to fit our brides perfectly, from the first alterations to the last, the connection between the gown and the bride is utmost and we love to see it on our brides on their wedding day!
Thiago and I first crossed paths at a wine bar in Palo Alto, CA three years ago. It was North Bay “Yogi” meets South Bay “Race Car Enthusiast”! As a native San Franciscan, I lived and breathed the city life. Thiago, on the other hand, lived in the suburbs since coming from Brasil for as long as he could remember. After our first date, we were inseparable. Two years later, Thiago proposed shortly after we moved in with one another. It was the happiest moment of my life, until the moment when we said “I do” in May 2016!
We wanted the summer wedding to have an air of whimsy and romance, and we tried to incorporate this with the lush florals, the beautiful outdoor setting nestling high on a plateau in Silicon Valley, the Spanish acoustic guitar music, and definitely the dress. My two favorite parts of wedding planning was picking out the dress and dreaming up our honeymoon. As a fashionista, finding something unique that represented who I am was so important. I fell in love with Galia Lahav’s designs the moment I slip into it the first time that I knew I couldn’t wear anything else. The low pearl back and lace epaulettes made for such a dreamy combination.
We knew the hilltop of the Boulder Ridge was the perfect place for us the second we stepped foot onto it. We wanted our wedding day to feel like an intimate gathering, elegant yet organic where our guests could enjoy. A local gem with 360 degree views of the Bay Area made for an incredibly romantic background too. Lights, candles and chandelier trees twinkling everywhere. Our family and friends kept saying it felt like a scene from a fairytale and that they had never been surrounded by so much love in one place. That really meant the world to us!
I always say “love is in the details.” Our wedding was full of little details that came together to create the softest and most romantic day. I picked every piece, from our menu design to a sweet sprig of olive and floral tied with luxe velvet as place settings, to create a warm and heartfelt atmosphere. Many things were custom created or handmade, which made them all the more special to us. I had Flowerstory create hand tied bouquets and loose Tuscan styled flower arrangements throughout the venue using a variety of soft blush and buff colored blooms. Rose petals lined the aisle and hanging florals and folliage decorated the courtyard which offered a pretty backdrop from every angle. For linens, we used La Tavola and mixed and matched several patterns of Beatrice Garden and Liza to really elevate the tablescapes. Metallic voltives and mercury glass vases lined each table in a free flowing fashion. For dessert, we splurged on a fondant three tier cake from C’est Si Bon with cascading floral was by far the best cake we all had.
When our wedding day arrived, everything turned out so amazingly! All of our vendors helped us produce something unparalleled and for that we are truly grateful. It was such a magical day and we couldn’t have asked for anything more than celebrating with our family and friends under the stars. Just like everyone says, it truly was the best day ever!
Thiago and I are hoping to take our honeymoon on our one year anniversary. Hopefully we’ll be able to save up and go somewhere really nice by then. We would love to go to Bora Bora someday.
