Meet our Bride of the Week, Michelle , who looked beautiful in our stunning Monroe gown from the Iconic Collection. Her enchanting fairytale wedding was held at the picturesque Fior Mel in Melbourne. Join us in this interview as Michelle shares more about her special day and the gown that made her dreams come true.
As told by Michelle:

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

My dad walking me down the aisle to my soon to be husband. It was very emotional and so special.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

Stress less! Even if things don’t go exactly as planned on the day, chances are your guests won’t even notice or care and it’ll still be the most amazing day.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

We flew down 8 performers from Series of Events Australia from Sydney to Melbourne to perform at our wedding for our guests. The 20 minutes performance included lion dancing, stunt show, acrobatics and balancing acts.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

When I tried it on for the first time and looked in the mirror, I knew it was the one because it was better than any dress I’ve ever imagined myself in. It was perfect because it made me feel sexy, confident and fierce, like I could do anything in that dress.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

I knew it was going to fit like a glove and accentuate all the right places. It was absolutely stunning. Everyone at the wedding was in love with the dress and thought it looked incredible. They thought it was the perfect dress for me couldn’t imagine me in anything else. Just divine.

Would you have done anything differently?

I would have loved for me and hubby have taken some time to be alone together on the day to soak it all in. It was a crazy busy day (3:30am start to 1am finish) and it almost felt like a blur by the end. The whole day went by way too quickly. I guess it’s true what they say, “time flies when you’re having fun”.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

I was most looking forward to our reception entrance. Our bridal party had planned a really fun dance club entrance for us. They came out dancing and shooting CO2 smoke guns on the dance floor. There were lasers everywhere, cash guns shooting money in the air, trays of tequila shots, bottles. It was so silly and brilliant.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

We met through mutual friends and had known each other for years before we started dating. He proposed to me while we were on holiday in Bali, celebrating our 7th year anniversary. It was on top of a cliff, by the ocean at sunset. There was a beautiful flower arch set up, rose petals on the floor and a huge Marry Me sign that lit up. There was also violinist playing for us. We had a private dinner by the beach, inside cave later that evening.

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

The Galia Team was so lovely to work with. Everyone was really friendly, helpful and responsive. They were knowledgeable and passionate about everything Galia.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

I think I tried on a total of 20 different dresses at four different bridal stores, before I found the one at The Galia Trunk Show.
