Bride Of The Week: Jordan
Written By Kaileah Searcy

We’re thrilled to share the wedding of GL Bride Jordan Leigh Laine, who married NHL star Patrik Laine in a breathtaking celebration at the iconic Breakers. Wearing the Evelyn gown, Jordan felt like the most beautiful version of herself as she walked down the aisle. From emotional vows to a surprise ice bar, every detail of their day was filled with joy, love, and unforgettable memories.
"Stay focused on your fiancé and remember that no matter what happens, you’re going to wake up the next day married to your best friend.”
A moment of your wedding day you’ll never forget
I had written a letter to my future husband before I even met Patrik, and I read it to him during the ceremony as part of our vows. It was a full-circle moment that meant so much to me. His vows were perfect as well, and we both cried through the entire thing.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
Something is bound to go wrong on your wedding day. Stay focused on your fiancé and remember that no matter what happens, you’ll wake up the next day married to your best friend. That’s what it’s all about.
A detail that made your wedding special or unique?
Patrik plays in the NHL, and our planner Heather surprised us with an ice bar at the cocktail reception featuring an espresso martini ice luge. It was such a wow factor, and all of my friends took pictures kissing the ice swan next to it.
How did you know your dress was “the one”?
I’d tried on other dresses before, but there was always something small I wanted to change. I started getting nervous that I wasn’t going to have “that big moment” brides dream of where you just know. When I stepped into the Evelyn gown, I immediately started crying, and it was a unanimous “THIS IS IT” from everyone with me. It was elegant but also had unique details that made it feel different from the others. It felt very “me”—classic elements, but unlike anything else.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone’s reaction?
I was so nervous the entire day leading up to the wedding, but when I put on the dress, I had my “this is really happening” moment. I felt so ready to walk down the aisle. I had never felt more beautiful in my life, and I couldn’t wait to show Patrik.

Would you have done anything differently?
Halfway through getting ready, I moved my hair and makeup team from the busy living room into the bedroom for a quiet moment to really soak everything in. The process is full of amazing energy but can also be overstimulating with so many people coming in and out. My advice: make sure you have a little safe space to pause and reset if you need it.
What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan, or what were you most looking forward to?
Planning the reception was such a joy—not only because it was a great party, but also because it was sentimental. We included songs on our “must play” list that I knew would create special moments with my family. I surprised my grammy with I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack, which has been our song since I was a little girl. Dancing with her to it toward the end of the night is a moment I’ll cherish forever.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
Patrik was playing hockey for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and I grew up there. At the time, I was living in Washington, D.C., but I was home one weekend for a wedding. The night before, I met him while I was out with friends on High Street. Less than a year later, he proposed in Turks and Caicos on my birthday with a private dinner on the beach.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
When we stepped into Galia Lahav, my Aunt Amie and I looked at each other and said, “This is what the wedding dress experience is supposed to feel like.” Our bridal attendant was so personable and kind, and she brought us all the champagne we could drink when we found the one! It wasn’t crowded, and we felt truly special and cared for.
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I went to three popular NYC stores before Galia Lahav and tried probably 30 dresses in total. Evelyn was the first dress I tried on at Galia Lahav, and it was love at first sight. The funny thing is, she was also the first dress I ever saved on Instagram when I started looking online.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Just how incredibly thankful I am for everyone who made our big day so amazing. Our planner, Heather Lowenthal from Posh Parties, in particular. To know her is to love her.
