Laura Lussi’s Fairytale Wedding in Switzerland

Bride of the week: Laura Lussi

Our #GLBride of the week is the lovely Laura Lussi, who walked down the aisle in our GALA 1010. Lauren and her fiancé tied the knot and held their magical fairytale wedding at the Villa Orselina in Ticino, Switzerland. In the following interview, Laura shares her favorite moments and how she became a GL Bride. As told by Laura:

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

Nervously entering the church to Ludovico Einaudi’s piano music and walking down the aisle with my father, seeing my future husband and best friends waiting there for me.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride?

The day flies by so fast and you hardly get to speak to all your guests. Treasure it as much as you can and live in the moment – everything else will fall into place.

What advice would you give to future brides?

Don’t fret about having the “perfect” wedding itinerary and don’t make sure everything goes according to plan. Outsource and enjoy because no one will notice anyway and you’ll have the best day of your life.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we had a wedding cake made of 4 different loaves of cheese.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

I couldn’t stop staring and smiling at myself imagining myself walking down the aisle in this beautiful gown. I wanted a dress that was me And the dress and not just about the dress and it fit perfectly with my personality.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding?

Positively nervously excited and full of anticipation. Some small tears were shed.

What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

Everyone thought the dress was absolutely stunning and that it didn’t overpower me as a person. They couldn’t get enough of the embroidery.

Would you have done anything differently?

Not at all. It was perfect the way it was and all meant to be.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

Everything! I love planning and planning my own wedding was the best thing. I couldn’t wait to experience it all but was very excited to see everyone’s reaction to our special cheese wedding cake!

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

We met at university but only ended up together years later. As soon as we met again we knew it was meant to be. He proposed on my birthday, we went to the restaurant where we had our first date and once we were back home at our safe place he got down on one knee.

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

I saw the dress at Boutique Zoro in Zurich, Switzerland. The team working with Galia Lahav was amazing, catering to my wishes and preparing my dress just the way I liked it. It fit perfectly on our wedding day. I couldn’t have wished for a better team and a more beautiful dress.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

It was the second boutique I went to so there must have been more than 10 dresses before I saw the one as I was already about to leave the store. I am so glad I decided to venture back into the changing room to try it on.
