Get ready to meet our GL Bride Of The Week Miranda! She recently tied the knot with the love of her life in our Maya gown. The two celebrated their nuptials surrounded by love ones with a beautiful destination wedding. In the following interview, Miranda shares what she loved most about her wedding and how she found her dream dress with us! As told by Miranda:
A moment of your wedding day you will never forget?
Our last dance. After the party had ended and our guests were gone, our wedding planner and the team surprised us with an intimate moment to ourselves on the dance floor while playing a slow song that had special meaning to us. Afterward, we relaxed and shared a bottle of whiskey with our team. We felt such deep gratitude towards them, for they poured their own hearts and care into our day.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
Don’t sweat the small stuff- seriously, I know it’s hard but try not to worry about anyone or anything. The day does go by SO fast, so wasting any of your energy on being upset is not worth it.
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
So many details! But one of the most unique experiences for us, was getting to witness our friends and family traveling to a new country, experiencing a new culture, tasting unique cuisine, and enjoying specialty cocktails that we had spent so much time to put together. It was exciting seeing everyone make friends and have a good time.
I’ve been following GL forever and I have always been OBSESSED with how every single dress photographs and knew I needed it for my big day.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
I felt like an absolute goddess. The sensual fit, the style, the cut, the detailed design everything was amazing! And I could not believe how perfect it fit my body and how it made me feel. And in my husbands own words – A mix of “wow she’s radiantly beautiful and damn she’s fine” all at once.
Would you have done anything differently?
No! Everything we wanted had come to life. It was the perfect day for us.
What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
Other than wearing my beautiful dress and marrying Kris, was the food. The day had gone so fast that you really don’t get a chance to eat much except at the reception! And of course seeing all of our family and friends enjoy all of it with us in the same venue to celebrate such a special day.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
We met on a dating app! We both are healthcare providers and have little to no social life so we matched online and after talking for weeks, we finally decided to meet at my favorite speakeasy bar. Immediately felt for one another. After dating a few years, we had already discussed future plans together so I knew he was talking to his best friend Bryan about where to get a ring. Months later, he proposed the same day we moved in together!
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
My experience with GL was nothing short of amazing! I definitely felt like the hottest model walking the streets of Cartagena wearing my dress!
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I did not try on any dresses at all besides Maya. I always had an eye for unique pieces that no one had ever seen or could buy. So I found that Francesca’s store in Baltimore carried the one I wanted. I went to their store and as soon as I tried it on I fell in love.
