Our #GLBride of the Week is the stunning Rachel Wade, who married the love of her life in our Maya gown. She and her fiancé tied the knot at Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach. In the following interview, Rachel shares the moments she'll cherish forever and how she became a GL Bride. As told by Rachel:
What's your favorite thing about the dress?
I loved absolutely everything about the dress, but I think my favorite thing was the hand-sewn flowers. They brought the dress to life and I loved the pearl details inside them.
What is one piece of advice you would give to other brides-to-be?
Don’t stress about the little things. Things will come up on the week or day of your wedding and it’s so easy to get stressed, but I just thought of all of the things that we’re going well and how excited I was to marry my husband and that made it all worth it!
What was the highlight of your wedding?
Marrying my husband!! The whole day went so well and there were so many highlights, getting ready with my best friends and mom, showing my dad my dress for the first time, the ceremony and first kiss, taking photos on the beach, our first dance, and dancing all night long will all of the best people.
How did you know your dress was the one'?
I put it on and loved it immediately, I had tried on a few others and liked them but this one felt so unique and special. I felt so confident once I had it on, I didn’t want to take it off!
Who had the best reaction to your dress?
All of my friends and family were shocked when I first showed them my dress. My bridesmaids were probably the best though, as soon as I was dressed they were screaming. My husband was pretty good too, his face lit up as I was walking down the aisle.
What was your favorite part of your wedding dress experience?
It was just me and my mom because of covid protocols and it was so special! She’s my best friend and having her help me pick was the best. She agreed once I tried on Maya, there was no going back to any other dress, that one was perfect.
What is one memory from your wedding day you will never forget?
I’ll never forget walking down the aisle and seeing my husband’s face light up.
How did you meet your husband?
We met in high school and we started dating freshman year and dated all through college. It was so fun to grow up with him and experience all of these milestones in life. He’s my other half, we do everything together, and being with him makes even the smallest things like going to the grocery store so fun.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
It was amazing, they were so helpful the whole time, and my dress came in perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for more!
How did your husband propose? Did you know it was coming?
He planned us a weekend trip to San Diego and a nice dinner at a restaurant down there. Before dinner, we walked on the beach and he stopped and proposed and even had a hidden photographer! It was so special, then we celebrated at dinner with lots of champagne.
