Our GL Bride of the Week is Sasha, who stunned in not one but two unforgettable Galia Lahav gowns: the breathtaking Victoria and the effortlessly elegant Esme. Sasha and her husband Robert tied the knot in both an intimate Catholic ceremony and a spectacular destination celebration in Cabo San Lucas, each event beautifully reflecting a different side of their love story.
In today’s interview, Sasha shares how their whirlwind romance started with a rooftop date, how Robert’s emotional wedding speech left not a dry eye in the room, and how she chose two gowns that captured both her bold style and timeless grace. From a surprise dance performance to a heartfelt proposal in the presence of family, Sasha’s journey is filled with unforgettable moments and two perfect GL dresses to match.
"Falling in love with Robert was like walking into a house and suddenly knowing I was home."

A moment of your wedding day you will never forget?
The entire wedding was an absolute dream and I loved every moment of it, but the moment that stands out is surprising my now-husband with a dance. I was a professional dancer for the Oakland Raiderettes, and my former teammates and I pulled off a surprise performance for my husband and the rest of the guests. We put a lot of hours of hard work into it and it turned out perfect.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
Two pieces of advice. First, there will be a lot of follow-up with guests no matter how comprehensive your invites and website are, so just be prepared. Second, go second to last for makeup and hair or have people dedicated to you. This way you are ensured to be ready to go as the timeline creeps up. It helps you enjoy the process and the day without feeling the stress of the timeline.

A detail that made your wedding special or unique
My husband pulled off the surprise of a lifetime. I told him we had to give a short thank-you speech for our guests and he said, no problem, I can take the lead. I didn’t think anything of it at the time. Well, he had an entire speech planned. He first thanked our guests with some lighthearted jokes, then moved on to our wonderful wedding planner, Luciano Barajas from His and Hers Events. It was just a beautiful tribute because he knew how much heart and soul Luciano put into planning alongside me.
Then he walked over to my parents and gave a beautiful tribute. For the grand finale, he went to his parents and gave the most heartfelt tribute you could imagine. Both he and his father are not the crying type and I have only seen Robert cry once before. He said some beautiful things that left not a dry eye in the house. The most beautiful line was that he never wanted kids because he didn’t think he could amount to the standard his parents set, until he met me. Now he believes we can uphold that standard. I just love that man.
How did you know your dress was the one
I think most brides can relate when I say it was just a feeling. It checked a lot of boxes I had on my checklist of what I wanted, but it also had some details I didn’t think I wanted. The second I put it on, I knew it was the one. It felt right.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding. What was everyone’s reaction to the dress
It felt surreal and special. Everyone was obsessed with both dresses. The sparkle and drama of Victoria was unforgettable, and Esme was so sleek and elegant. Both gowns fit the energy of each ceremony perfectly. I felt like myself and the most beautiful bride version of me.
"My husband’s wedding speech left the entire room in tears. He walked to each of our parents and planners and honored them with words I’ll never forget."

Would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing.
What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan or what were you most looking forward to?
Just seeing every detail we carefully curated over the 14-month planning period come to life. I had the honor of having one of my close friends as my wedding planner, so it was such a wonderful experience and truly a labor of love.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
The Galia team was amazing and so accommodating with all of my customizations. They truly brought my vision to life and made both dresses feel personal and unforgettable.
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I tried on about 10 dresses total.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
Robert and I met on Hinge. We had both just created our profiles the week we matched and were each other’s first dates. I wasn’t a fan of dating apps, but my friends pestered me until I downloaded it and agreed to one date. We clicked pretty quickly and had our first date at a rooftop restaurant called Charmaine’s. It was during COVID, so we both had masks on. He told me later that he had to take a deep breath when I took my mask off. I like to think it was love at first sight for him. We closed the restaurant down and continued talking in his car for hours. On our next date, he took me to HomeGoods and told me I could buy whatever I wanted for his apartment since he had just moved in. If you know me, that is the way to my heart. I love interior design. Our third date was a trip to Napa on Valentine’s Day, and he asked me to be his girlfriend just five days after our first date. We have been inseparable ever since. Falling in love with Robert was like walking into a house and suddenly knowing I was home.
He proposed in front of my parents and sister when they were visiting us in Scottsdale. He waited for the perfect moment and made sure they were part of the big day. We had two beautiful wedding ceremonies. One was a Catholic ceremony in front of just our immediate family, which was so beautifully intimate. The other was a big celebration in Cabo with all our family and friends. It was amazing to be able to wear a Galia Lahav creation not once but twice. They were truly perfect for each event, and I cannot thank Galia enough for making me feel so special in my wedding dresses.
Wedding dress shopping is an overwhelming process, and I didn’t know how I’d be when I started, but it turned out to be quick. I had planned a day to go shopping with my mom, mother-in-law, and maid of honor, but I was told about the Galia trunk show, so I brought some friends and checked it out. I tried on about four or five dresses at Kinsley James, and the second I put on Victoria, everyone—including myself—fell deeply in love. I bought it on the spot.
With Esme, I was looking for something super simple and elegant. I didn’t want any bells, whistles, or a slit. I just wanted the dress to speak for itself. After a long search, I landed on Esme, and it checked every box. It was everything I imagined.
"To wear Galia Lahav not once but twice was a dream. Both dresses were truly perfect for each ceremony.”
