Inside GL Bride Chamberlyn Barker’s New Orleans Wedding in Our Contessa Gown

Chamberlyn and Jack celebrated their wedding at the historic Elms Mansion in New Orleans, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Filled with Southern romance, meaningful traditions, and plenty of dancing, the day captured everything they love about the city while still feeling completely their own.

Chamberlyn and Jack first met while she was visiting a mutual friend’s ranch in Dallas, where they immediately clicked and spent the weekend laughing together. Soon after, Chamberlyn moved 12 hours away for dental school, beginning a four-year long-distance relationship filled with flights back and forth. Jack eventually surprised her with a proposal in her hometown of Monroe, Louisiana, where friends and family were secretly waiting to celebrate with Champagne and a crawfish boil.

Their New Orleans wedding incorporated the spirit of the city throughout the celebration. One of the highlights was a traditional second line, with a brass band leading the newlyweds and their guests through the streets while everyone danced and waved handkerchiefs. Chamberlyn and Jack also spent their engagement taking dance lessons for a choreographed first dance to “At Last” by Etta James.

After trying on around 15 to 20 gowns, Chamberlyn stepped into CONTESSA and immediately knew she had found the one. Its intricate lace, drop waist, and unattached sleeves captured everything she had imagined: elegant, ethereal, timeless, and touched with Southern New Orleans romance. After keeping the gown a secret from Jack for nine months, seeing his reaction during their first look became one of her most unforgettable memories.

For the final part of the celebration, Chamberlyn changed into a Galia Lahav RTW dress: TONI, bringing a playful new energy to the reception and after-party. She describes working with the Galia Lahav team as a memorable part of her bridal experience, from the craftsmanship and artistry of both looks to the care she felt throughout the process. Together, the two gowns made her feel confident, beautiful, and completely herself throughout every part of the wedding.
