Join us as we celebrate our gorgeous GL Bride, Jessica, whose wedding was as lively and love-filled as her personality. Wearing the stunning Catalina gown, Jessica created a day bursting with laughter, creativity, and unforgettable moments including a spontaneous, room-wide cheer that had every guest on their feet. As both the bride and planner, she infused every detail with her signature flair, turning her dream celebration into a true reflection of her joy and style. This is her story.
"I felt like pure magic."
A moment of your wedding day you’ll never forget?
During the main course, one of the tables started cheering and chugging their drinks. The table next to them heard it and decided they could be louder, and also chug their drinks. It started a chain reaction, and all 22 tables began outdoing each other (LOL). The videographers were eating their meals when they heard the commotion and sprinted back into the ballroom to catch it on film. They said in all their years, they'd never seen anything like it. It was about five minutes of yelling, standing on chairs, waving napkins, blowing horns, and just showing so much love for us. It’s a precious moment I’ll hold onto forever.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
I wish I had taken more seriously how quickly the day/night would go. Brides always warn you. I definitely cherished it and lived in the moment, but even though the day felt long, it almost wasn’t long enough. There were people I didn’t get pictures with, conversations I wish lasted longer, and my husband and I didn’t even take a photo in our own photo booth until ten minutes before it closed. But maybe that’s a blessing. We really did live it up.
How did you know your dress was “the one”?
It’s funny looking back—on the way to the Soho location, I didn’t know how I’d get that “THE ONE” feeling. I’m very indecisive and thought that would trip me up. I tried on six dresses, and while the Maya dress made me the most giddy, I wasn’t fully sure. Then the curtains across from me opened, and I saw a girl in the Catalina dress. I said, “Give me that dress now.” As soon as I tried it on, I knew. My family was blown away. Of course, I second-guessed between Maya and Catalina. Sharon pinned both dresses on me, split down the middle, and said, “Choose.” I customized the Catalina a bit, and it turned out perfect.
How did it feel putting on your dress on the wedding day?
I felt like pure magic. With my hair and makeup done, looking at myself on one of the most important mornings of my life, it’s really indescribable. My bridesmaids and family loved the final look. I got so many compliments throughout the night. Everyone said they wouldn’t have expected anything less from me.
"I wouldn’t change my Catalina dress for anything."
What part of the wedding were you most excited to plan?
I loved the beginning when everything felt new and exciting and we were interviewing vendors. Then came the moment my creative items started arriving. Seeing them as finished products was such an amazing feeling.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
We met on Hinge, but it didn’t work out the first time. We reconnected during quarantine in 2020. He proposed 2.5 years later in Bali, on top of a volcano! It was the coolest thing ever.
How was your experience working with the Galia Lahav team?
Working with the team was a dream. My husband's mom works for ELAL Airlines and often saw Galia. She mentioned her son was getting married and that my dream dress was Galia Lahav. They helped me set up my appointment at the Soho location. Everyone was amazing. Galia is one of the most humble women I’ve met. Sharon was incredibly talented and knowledgeable and I was fangirling hard. Jackie was my girl from the start and helped me every step of the way. The whole staff was incredible.
How many dresses did you try on before finding "the one"?
I tried on six dresses total.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Just that it's a dream to even be filling this out! A fun fact, I’ve been pinning to my wedding board since college. The very first pin? A black-and-white photo of a Galia Lahav dress. I told myself, “One day, I’ll wear one.” Ten years later, I did, and now I’m being featured. Dream come true.
" I definitely cherished it and lived in the moment."
