Feel great on the inside, look drop-dead-gorgeous on the outside! When it comes to finding your dream wedding dress, the most important detail about “the one” is how it makes you feel. Shopping by body type might help you filter through a seemingly endless lineup of gorgeous gowns to find the one that looks like it was made for you. We’ve highlighted a few common body types and the latest Galia Lahav dresses that work best for them.

Edna

You’ve got gorgeous curves, so you’d better flaunt them! Embracing your body’s shape instead of hiding it under layers of fabric is bound to be the most flattering pick for hourglass types. A trumpet style, like Edna from Telenovela, is a gorgeous pick as it’s cut close through the torso and hips, until it gracefully creates volumes from the mid-thigh all the way through the hem of that cathedral train. Highlighted by an elongated waist corset with cut outs, Edna draws plenty of attention to the smallest part of your body. In other words… no one will be able to take their eyes off you!

Fantasia

An A-line dress with a scoop neckline is perfect for those with a fuller midsection. Cinching you in at your smallest point just below the bust and falling out softly to the floor, Fantasia is the effortless romantic fitting gown for you. The off-the-shoulder draped corset top naturally brings the eye to the top of the gown, while a loose flowing skirt falls delicately over the lower body without being too wide or too narrow for our apple brides, just the right amount of the volume.

Dove

As a rule of thumb, drawing attention to your smallest features can help balance out a body shape that can sometimes feel disproportionate. We love Dove on our top-heavy brides as it has supportive straps and flattering modern square neckline while still showing off your assets (Tip: A corset could be too revealing and unsupportive for some brides!) The pointed bodice will draw attention to your small hips and waist.

Dove’s satin material creates a smooth and silky look, which flows into a voluminous box-pleated satin cathedral skirt, which feels elegant without being over-the-top.

Nouvelle

The juxtaposition between a fitted bodice and a flowing skirt will take attention away from a fuller midsection to create the illusion of an hourglass shape—even where there isn’t one. This dreamy silk tulle A-line dress, Nouvelle, features a draped off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline bodice with puffy sleeves, and a ballgown overskirt. This is romance and style sewed into one.

Jamie

We have some good news for those who feel their body type is straight up and down: You don’t actually need curves when you can simply create the illusion of them. An amazing choice for rectangle brides is the stunning Jamie gown. The structured top will give you a waist you didn’t even know existed (a Galia Lahav specialty!) This silhouette is nipped in at the waist and has a flattering scoop neckline, drawing the eye down to the middle of the gown creating an hourglass look – the flowing tulle skirt helps complete the illusion from head to toe. Jamie’s built-in cups will make your bust look ample, regardless of your actual size and it’s all over 3D petals, accompanied by off-the-shoulder puff sleeves, softens your straight shape.
