There was so much white lace and tulle at New York Fashion Week in September that guests would be forgiven for thinking they were attending a wedding. From Tanner Fletcher’s sculptural ruffles to Grace Ling’s transparency play and Interior’s vintage-inspired princess fantasies, New York’s creative vanguard embraced ethereal beauty, serving major bridal inspo. Here how to take some of Spring 2024’s most magical looks straight from the runway to your walk down the aisle.

Bodycon

Grace Ling is one New York’s most innovative young talents: the J. Lo and Emma Chamberlain-approved designer uses computer modeling to design her signature sexy yet sophisticated silhouettes that feature high slits, low backs, and transparencies. A highlight of her Spring 2024 show was her nylon and viscose ombre column dresses that play a game of peek-a-boo to show off a woman’s best assets. Try showing a little skin on your big day with a form-fitting Leonie mermaid gown featuring sparkling sheer sleeves and side panels.

Artisanal

Tanner Fletcher designers Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell turn trash into treasure. These upcyling wizards have transformed vintage bedsheets into shirting and drapery into dresses. Their Spring 2024 show featured a ballgown covered in sculptural ruffles constructed from hand-twisted scraps of ribbon. Indulge in the beauty of handcraft for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion with the Veronica trumpet corset gown featuring a voluminous skirt made of layered ruffled tulle adorned with 3D embroidered lace

High Drama

Marcelo Gaia’s buzzy label Mirror Palais is known for its majorly glam silhouettes that riff on historical references. His Spring 2024 show was a little bit Marie Antoinette and a little bit Audrey Hepburn, highlighting flounced taffeta skirts and corsetry. Make a grand entrance at your ceremony with an Oscar-worthy Diamond corseted ball gown with a voluminous layered skirt made of pleated tulle ruffles.

Big ’80s

Interior designers Lily Miesmer and Jack Minerrom love a vintage moment. Minerrom found a perfectly preserved puff sleeved ’80s wedding dress on one of his sourcing missions, which got him thinking about the inherent charm of the decade’s ultra-feminine silhouettes with full skirts, and nipped in waists. Live your princess fantasy with a silk tulle gown Tali featuring dramatic pleated sleeves and finished with a pleated belt and tailored bow to create an hourglass shape.

High Art

Dauphinette designer Olivia Cheng is fashion magpie who transforms vintage clothing and found objects into works of art. Upcycled beads, rhinestones, porcupine quills, cabinet pulls, and vintage wedding gowns are just some of the eclectic materials she used in her Spring 2024 collection. Feel like a masterpiece in a sculptural Paloma mermaid gown with a cathedral-length and 3D floral-embellished A-line over-skirt.
