Meet Tanya, our GL Bride of the Week, who wore the exquisite Fabiana gown at her Hawaiian wedding. Surrounded by majestic palms and clear waters at Kahi Resort, she looked elegant in her Galia Lahav gown, adorned with embroidered flowers that echoed the surrounding beauty. In the following interview, she shares her extraordinary day and the story of finding her dream dress. As told by Tanya:

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

When my husband and I saw each other for the first time with our wedding attire. It was so emotional we couldn’t hold the tears. A moment I would cherish forever. Also the vows we said to each other was so special.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride?

I wish someone would’ve told me it’s a lot of planning. Up until now I didn’t know there are a lot of things you put into organizing a wedding. So for all the brides and future brides you are queens for doing this. My advice for future brides is to enjoy this day and now worry about what will go wrong, it’s your moment and you will remember it forever so soak in everything as much as you can.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

I put a hand held fans for the guests to take home after the wedding with our names and date of the wedding on it, and also tiny ׳Take Me Home׳ flowers that kids with special needs make so it had a special meaning to it.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

I knew from the start that I wanted a dress with flowers that has a lot of details so I started looking on Pinterest for dresses after the proposal. And then I found Fabiana and it turns out that it’s an Israeli designer which was even better. So we went with my mom to try on the dresses. I tried a few dresses but Fabiana was the one.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

The feeling was indescribable. To wear a dress that not only fits the best on me but also is the prettiest and dreamiest was surreal. People could not stop complimenting me and even after the wedding was over they still talk about how perfect the dress was. All people talk about is the dress.

Would you have done anything differently?

Absolutely not.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

I think everything. I enjoyed it all from the tiniest thing to the biggest.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

My husband and I know each other pretty much from first grade so I always knew who Nikita (my husband) was. When we went to the army (in Israel after you graduate you go to the army) we started talking more and more. Suddenly we went just the two of us to the movies and wanted to be near each other all the time, we were obsessed. And the rest is history. The proposal was amazing. We were almost 7 years together so after that much time you know when it’s going to happen. So I did but I also did not. We went to the south on a vacation at a luxurious hotel. On our 7th year anniversary he told me dress up nicely we’re going to watch the sunset tougher, so in my mind I’m thinking ok this is it, it’s going to happen. When we arrived at the location I did not expect for the beauty that I saw. It was a white carpet with dried flowers, candles and our song (A Thousand Years) was playing. It was so romantic and emotional. I will remember it for a lifetime.

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

It was amazing. The team especially Simon was so patient with me, advised me what to do and whats prettier with the dress. She was so wonderful and  I hope there are more people like her, because she made this experience memorable and also fun.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

I tried on 2 dresses at Galia Lahav and the third was Fabiana (my dress). I fell in love right away and knew this was my dress.
