Introducing Rachel Krauss, our GL Bride Of The Week, who donned our Shimmer gown from the Shine Collection! Rachel and her fiancé exchanged vows at a romantic, dreamy wedding adorned with enchanting fairy lights and bursts of color. In the following interview, Rachel shares her wedding journey, the captivating details of her gown, and the enchanting vision that blossomed into reality on her special day. As told by Rachel:
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
Our first look was so special and more emotional than I thought it would be. It was nice to have an intimate moment before the ceremony to express our love and vows to one another in private. His reaction to the dress surpassed my expectations and said it was even more perfect than he could have imagined.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
My best advice for the wedding day is to just keep calm and make sure everything is how you want because you can never get this day back! Even though going through the wedding process with a planner made it much more manageable, it can still be stressful. It will make a world of differences to just enjoy each moment and decision made from beginning to end. Don’t let stress take over because you won’t experience this journey again and should remember it in a positive light. Even though at first my husband didn’t care much about being a part of the decision making, it was fun to look through different vendors together and get him involved in the details too!
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
It was so special and meant the world to us having our closest family and friends all together in this beautiful garden villa in Italy. It was truly a once in a life experience celebrating in this fairytale setting, let alone in a different country.
It was actually the first dress I tried on and just felt an overwhelming amount of emotion and joy. Once I put the dress on, I felt like myself in it and it was the perfect balance of romantic and sexy. Being that I’m a very indecisive person, I was shocked I loved the first one so much but I somehow knew nothing could outshine it.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
I felt like a princess and everything fit like a glove. There were many tears shed seeing the dress and everything come together but everyone could not get over the level of detail and uniqueness of the dress.
Would you have done anything differently?
Everything worked out perfectly but the only thing we wish we had was more time the day of to relax, so giving more buffer time is definitely something we would have added more of!
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
The vision for the reception dinner was my favorite to plan and it was the most important since it was a two hour sit-down dinner before the real party started. Vibes are everything and I wanted it to feel romantic and warm with pops of color, which included have fairy lights to create the illusion of sitting under the stars. I was amazed seeing the vision come to life!
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
Me and my husband actually dated in high school for a couple of years and then rekindled towards the end of college and we’ve been inseparable since! He surprised me with a trip to Aruba for my birthday and on the first night there, he proposed during a romantic dinner on the beach.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
The NYC team was one of my favorite parts about the wedding journey. They not only helped make sure the dress and every detail was exactly how I wanted, but it was so fun and exciting every time I went to the showroom. Galia was at my first appointment when I said yes to the dress and she wanted to make sure everything fit perfect. Ayana was AMAZING and made it such a special experience!
