Allow us to introduce our GL Bride of the week, Lexi Lily, who graced her wedding day in ourJosi gown! Against the picturesque backdrop of the Grand Lady in Austin, Texas, Lexi's journey to becoming a GL bride unfolded in a setting of unparalleled beauty. In the following interview, Lexi shares what she loved the most and how she found the dress of her dreams. As told by Lexi:

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

My husband’s reaction during our first look! Britton (my husband) was so sweet and overcome with emotions – he seldom cries and is very even keeled, so his raw reaction was so special to me. Our first look was also my husband’s favorite moment from the wedding, so I know we both will cherish that moment forever!

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

I wish I knew the importance and intricacies of constructing a cohesive wedding day timeline that worked for our needs! Our wedding day and timeline ended up running so smoothly and perfectly, but it would’ve been great knowing how to make that happen, without having to do all of the research I did to figure that out! The advice I would give to future brides is to make your wedding represent you and your partner as a couple. Themes and cohesion do not matter as much as the way you feel on your wedding day, and because your guests know you and love you, they will appreciate how uniquely “you” your wedding is!

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

My husband and I both went to the same alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin, so we incorporated many “UT” elements into our wedding (color scheme, mentions of UT in our vows, and we kicked off the dancefloor with a singing a custom EDM mix of our school song made for us by our DJ @officialdjtj). We also incorporated our dog into our wedding by having her walk down the aisle and be held by my sister during the ceremony, naming our custom cocktails after her, and we had custom acrylic cocktail stirrers with her face on them. Also, because I’m a huge

As Star Wars fan and a model, we did a second grand entrance to the dancefloor where my husband wore a Darth Vader helmet and I wore a stormtrooper helmet, we carried lightsabers, and did a runway strut to a custom mix of the “Imperial Death March” and our guests all got to dance with lightsaber party favors the rest of the night.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

It was the only dress out of ALL of the ones I tried on where I felt like myself in it! Also, my
maid of honor who rarely gets emotional, started tearing up when she saw me in it!

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

I felt like a princess version of myself! It made me feel confident, sexy, elegant, and beautiful all at once. All of my brideswomen, my mom, and my
sband’s mom screamed so loud! It was so sweet. So many of my friends told me they found my gown so jaw dropping and stunning. They said they had very high expectations for my gown since they all know how into fashion and modeling I am, but that my gown exceeded expectations – everyone had the sweetest compliments about my gown, and I was so grateful for their kind words!

Would you have done anything differently?

Not a single thing — our wedding was truly my dream fairytale come true.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

All of the special details! Putting personal touches and elements into our wedding day was so special for us. My absolute favorite special detail was getting to have my husband’s father and one of my brideswomen, Bri, play the guitar and sing an acoustic version of Everlong by Foo Fighters as I walked down the aisle. My friend Bri is also a professional chef and 2 time MasterChef contestant, so she baked our cake! She’s basically a little sister to me, so getting to have her perform with my husband’s father, and then my husband and I getting to share the cake cutting moment all together was beyond beautiful for us!

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

We met at a party through mutual friends at UT Austin, and I asked him to my sorority’s date event a month later. In February 2022, Britton and I took a two-week vacation to Maui with some of our closest friends. Britton pretended to have “messed up” a happy hour reservation one night, and asked the girls meet the guys on the beach instead. Us girls had dressed up nicely for the evening, so we were a little salty about walking in the sand in our heels. I got a little sassy when I got there, and Britton asked to pull me aside, so I asked him if I was in trouble. Britton laughed and said no and asked to go take photos off to the side where he ended up proposing while the sun set. We popped champagne with

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

The Galia Lahav team was so kind and accommodating! Because I loved my gown so much, I wanted to do a gown “transformation” instead of purchasing a 2nd outfit and doing an outfit change, which is very popular among brides right now, so they worked with me to make a completely custom version of the “Josi” gown! I was able to customize the sleeves to be removable, and they also worked with me to achieve a more sleek, elegant, and romantic pattern on the sleeves. Also, they attached an inner lining inside the skirt that we ripped out with a seam ripper after the ceremony! The partial see through look with the lace on the dancefloor during our first dance looked beautiful, and I ended up removing the sleeves, lassoing them around my head, and throwing them to my woman of honor in the middle of the dancefloor! It was iconic.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

I actually made a TikTok about how I found my gown! (@lexilily__) Moral of the story is: I went to 6 boutiques
and tried on over 50 gowns! I’m the kind of person who needs to know all of my options before I make a decision. (:
