Meet our gorgeous GL Bride of the week, Kimberly! She recently said "I do" to her partner in a beautiful ceremony and reception in Mayakoba, Mexico, wearing our breathtaking GALA 1010 and Jill gown. In the following interview, Kimberly shares moments from her special day and how she found the dress of her dreams with us. As told by Kimberly!

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

I’m a Wedding Planner myself and my favorite part about my job is seeing my couples walk into their reception space and watch their eyes light up. My favorite part of the day was walking into my reception space with my husband and seeing his eyes light up. Let’s just say it was a moment of impact for me to see the vision that my designers and I created finally brought to life!

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

As mentioned before, I’m in the wedding industry so I knew what to expect with the planning process…but for future brides, my advice would be not to sweat the small stuff, be present on your special day, and hire a good planner!

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

I think my wedding was special and unique firstly because of the location…it was in a place no one had visited before. 120 guests traveling to Mayakoba, Mexico for the first time to celebrate us was so special. Another unique thing I loved about our wedding was our grand entrance. We arrived by boat to the back of our reception to surprise our guests and seeing all of them standing there excited to greet us made it all worth it!

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

It was the 7th dress that I tried on and when I saw not only my own reaction but my favorite ladies as well, I knew it was the one. It had the perfect amount of everything I dreamt of! What can I say? It was lucky #7.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

I felt like an actual princess when I tried on my dress. Watching my girls get emotional when they saw me was everything. I’ve been friends with ladies for decades, so we always dreamt of seeing each other in wedding gowns. It was special for it to be my turn in white finally. I would like to add that my Galia gown embraced each part of the wedding…the soft sleeves that we added with the custom floral detailing for the ceremony, the adorable applique straps for the reception, and then the AMAZING Jill after party dress was the moment!

Would you have done anything differently?

I wouldn’t have done anything different, to be honest…I enjoyed my entire wedding weekend to the fullest and am so grateful and blessed that all of our favorite people could join us.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

The whole weekend! I wanted it to be memorable and something to look forward to daily. We started off with a Welcome Party where our guests were greeted with some cocktails like “I Do, Whiskeys” and “Marry Me Margaritas” and they danced and munched on tacos all night. Our Wedding Day was magical, to say the least. We enjoyed the different locations we took them to for the ceremony, cocktail, and reception. We partied all night like we were back in a Miami nightclub. We decided to end our wedding festivities with a “Toes in the Sand Beach Party” where our guests enjoyed some yummy monogrammed coconuts, played beach volleyball, and ate fresh ceviche. I looked forward to celebrating our love with all of our special loved ones under the same roof all weekend long!

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

My husband and I met years ago in Islamorada, FL but didn’t hit it off until 7 years ago when we were at Happy Hour – the typical boy asks a girl to get a drink at the bar story. I was then invited to Bimini with him and the rest is history. Justin proposed on a Sunday afternoon in December 2021 by renting out a little boat on the water in Miami Beach. I thought we were going to one of my friends’ birthday brunches but little did I know they both had something else up their sleeves. The boat was decorated with the most beautiful lush white flowers and soon after Justin got down on one knee and popped the question. One of the best days!

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

The team at Galia Lahav was magical. Nicole was the sweetest and made me feel so good about all of the dresses I tried on. She knew the ones I wasn’t feeling too much either. The moment you walk in it is truly like a dream come true. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I will be sending all of my future brides to enjoy the same experience!

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

I tried on over 25 dresses but always kept coming back to Lucky #7! It was the one and I even showed my husband the others I tried on after…he couldn’t agree more.
