Meet Kelly Dunn, our gorgeous Bride of the Week, who wore our Maya gown on her special day! Surrounded by friends and family, the couple celebrated their love with a romantic wedding at Vizcaya, with festivities extending throughout the weekend in beautiful Miami. In the following interview, Kelly shares unforgettable moments from their wedding day and reveals how she knew our Maya gown was the one! As told by Kelly:
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
The first look is a moment I will never forget. We were so happy to see each other and have some time for just the two of us before the ceremony started.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
The most important part of your day is to have a moment and truly take in the magic of the day. It’s so special being surrounded by everyone you love and how much support they have for the next chapter.
The wedding location and getting married on a Friday was very special. It was a dream come true to get married at Vizcaya. All our friends flew in, and we were able to continue celebrating the entire weekend in Miami.
I had the Maya dress saved in my phone for at least 6 months before going to try it on. I knew from the moment I laid my eyes on it that it was the one for me.
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
I have my own wedding planning business, so being able to plan my own wedding was something so special to me. The florals were my favorite part, and they really made my vision come to life.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
I was selling my home in Georgia and my husband was a realtor at the time, so we started our conversations about that, and it led into a strong friendship and later grew into my favorite love story.
My husband proposed to me in front of the Christmas tree at Bryant Park in New York on our annual December trip. He pretended that he wanted to take a picture with me and when I turned to look at him, he was proposing!
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
Every single member of the Miami store team was so friendly and lovely to work with. Nicole Abecia was amazing and made my shopping experience a pleasure.
