Meet Jackie, our stunning GL Bride of the Week, who graced her wedding day in the exquisite Estelle gown. Her wedding and reception was a masterpiece of contrasting touches featuring white roses, hydrangeas, black magic roses, amaranthus, and vibrant dahlias, leaving guests in awe. In the following interview, she shares her extraordinary day and the story of finding her dream dress. As told by Jackie:
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
Following the ceremony, my bridesmaids & I went back to the bridal suite to get ready for reception entrances. We all immediately burst into full blown tears and sobs and hugged each other so tightly as we cried. It was a very beautiful and emotional moment that I am so grateful to have experienced with my beloved friends who have been in my life since elementary school. Not many people can say that!
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
I would tell future brides to take a moment with your partner during the reception, look at everyone dancing and smiling and celebrating, and let that moment soak in. Take the moment to cherish the event you created & witness others enjoying it!
A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
We wanted different vibes for different parts of our wedding. For our chuppah, we kept it white, angelic, and delicate with white roses, white hydrangeas, and baby’s breath with candles spread throughout. However, as people walked into the reception room, they were met with black magic roses, red amaranthus, blueberry roses, and purple dahlias. Guests were also met with a 3D larger than life, lush, and opulent sweetheart table that was overlooking the room. Everyone said they walked into the room and thought they accidentally walked into a different party!
I always knew I wanted a dress with long sleeves and an open back. I put it on and immediately said – sorry for the language here – “holy sh*t.” It was sexy without being vulgar and classy without being boring. It fit me like a glove and I felt like myself! Funny enough, even before I was engaged or dating, my mom showed me this [Estelle] dress and said, “This is going to be your wedding dress.” She always had a feeling!
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding?
What was everyone’s reaction to the dress? As soon as I put on the dress, I felt so much at ease. I felt comfortable and confident and like the day was truly going to start! I did a first look with my friends and all you could hear were screams of excitement and gasps!
Would you have done anything differently?
No! I wouldn’t change a thing and would do anything to relive the day over again – it was nothing short of perfect.
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
My favorite part of the wedding was the reception! I was so excited to dance with my bridal party, friends I had not seen, and family members who traveled near and far! The energy and vibes were amazing.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
I met my husband at a mutual friend’s birthday party. He ended up proposing 3 years later on Valentine’s Day with both of our families present. It was a surprise to everyone!
