Meet Alyssa Rosenbaum Lyons, our stunning Bride of the Week! From finding her dream dress on the third try to walking down the aisle and creating unforgettable memories, Alyssa's wedding day was filled with excitement, love, and joy. In the following interview, Alyssa shares her journey to becoming a GL Bride with her custom G-501 gown and what made her wedding day special. This is Alyssa's story!

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

Walking down the aisle with my parents at my side, surrounded by friends and family who came to celebrate with me and my now husband. I walked down to a string quartet playing my favorite song (Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls) which was surreal. While it was difficult to see through my blusher and tears, it’s something I won’t forget

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

That some things are out of your control! I was worried about every detail, from people being late to the lighting being perfect, but in the end, everything worked out. My advice to future brides would be to stay organized and trust your vendors. They are so seasoned and know what they are doing.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

My husband and I did not do the traditional first look. So while we checked in with one another throughout the morning via texts and phone calls, the first time we saw each other that day was as I was walking down the aisle. It was an intimate moment that we were able to share together, even in front of 200 guests.

How did you know your dress was 'The One'?

From the moment I envisioned my wedding day, I knew I wanted to wear something that was expressive of me. That meant being comfortable, while at the same time feeling romantic and being a little different. I knew I didn’t want to wear white. So when I tried on what would ultimately become “the one” I instantly fell in love. The blush tone and the flowers on the veil that both my mother and I knew would look spectacular on the overlay and sleeves, all just felt right. I also knew my soon-to-be husband would love it.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

It was truly a dream. I felt so confident. The only person who saw me in it before the day of the wedding was my mom. When waiting in the bridal suite on the day of, my dad and grandmother’s reactions said it all. The tears in their eyes and smiles on their faces were priceless and something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

Would you have done anything differently?

Not at all. While I’m sure there were minor hiccups throughout, I wouldn’t be able to point out a single imperfection. When the night ended I took a moment to remind myself just how lucky I am. I married the love of my life, have the most supportive family and friends, and wore the wedding gown of my dreams.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

I am very fortunate that I had my mom by my side to help plan the wedding. We have similar tastes, she knows me so well and has my complete trust. She is very detail-oriented and from her years of working in the fashion industry, her eye for design is ultimately what created the wedding of my dreams. I was so excited to walk into the venue the day of and loved how perfect everything was. Seeing my mom’s face light up was amazing. She worked so closely with each of our vendors to bring our visions to life. For this, and many more reasons, I am so unbelievably grateful.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

Like many couples these days, we met on Hinge. It was three dates in four days and we were in love! He proposed almost 3 years later in our apartment. It was so romantic. We had just come back from brunch and when I opened the door, rose petals were scattered across the floor and there were lit candles leading to the living room where he got on one knee to propose. I loved that it was just us and a private moment.

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

They were incredible, so easy to work with and shared in on the excitement when looking and ultimately realizing I had found THE one! With all the chaos that goes into wedding planning, I very much appreciated how focused and attentive they were.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

Just one other, the Magnolia, which I absolutely loved. It came down to me wanting to wear blush and that was how I decided between the two.
