Bride Of The Week: Hannah Ellis

Bride Of The Week: Hannah Ellis

Written By Pia Bildirici

Introducing our GL Bride of The Week, Hannah, who tied the knot in our Denise gown!

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
I will never forget walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my soon-to-be husband’s face and teary eyes. We didn’t do a first look, so it was truly so sweet seeing his reaction.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
One thing I wish I knew as a new bride is that it all goes so fast! I truly feel like a year of planning came and went and the day was over in the blink of an eye. My advice to future brides would be to soak up every little moment. From the stressful planning to the day of the wedding, don’t forget to take a step back and look at how beautiful the process is. On your wedding day, don’t stress about the things that are supposed to happen, that’s what the planning is for, just enjoy the best day of your life!

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
The most special part of our wedding was that we wrote personalized vows and read them to each other during the ceremony. There were so many beautiful emotions during that moment from both us and the guests.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
I didn’t feel like a bride until I put my dress on for the first time. I remember when I put it on, my jaw dropped and I said “Oh wow… I really look like a bride.” That’s how I knew it was the one.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
Putting my dress on my wedding day felt so magical. You only put it on a handful of times before wedding day but most likely, your hair and makeup aren’t done so you can’t see the full picture. When I put my dress on with my hair and makeup, I felt like a true princess. Everyone’s jaw dropped when I showed them for the first time, and even when I was walking down the aisle. My friends and family told me they couldn’t imagine me in any other dress and that the dress was perfect for me and my personality.

Would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t change A THING!

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
My favorite part of the wedding to plan was the reception! I love when my friends and family enjoy themselves and that was one of the most important things to me when planning. I wanted them all to have so much fun.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
I met my husband through mutual friends in 2017! We became friends and stayed friends up until we started dating in 2021. He proposed in our unfinished house that we were building together. It was perfect because it was personal to us!

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
Working with the Galia Lahav team was a dream! I truly felt like they made the dress mine. Everything was so easy and simple!

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I tried on 4 dresses before I found THE dress. All 5 dresses I tried on were Galia Lahav. I didn’t want to try on any other designer. I have been looking at Galia Lahav dresses since I was a little girl and I knew I would wear one on my wedding day! The Denise was the dress of my dreams. I never looked at any other dress once I tried it on.
