Meet our graceful GL Bride Yamilca, who wore our Splendid gown as she walked down the aisle in Mexico. Surrounded by family and friends, Yamilca celebrated a day that reflected her warm spirit and effortless sophistication. In the following interview, she shares how she found her dream dress, the story behind her fairytale proposal, and the moments she’ll cherish forever.

A moment of your wedding day you will never forget?
I will never forget wearing my dream wedding dress all night and the incredible feeling of gratitude, love, and joy I felt that day.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
Enjoy every second of it. Don’t let the little things affect your big day.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?
The day was beautiful; it was heartwarming to have all the people I love gathered in the same place to celebrate me and my husband.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
Funny story: by the time I went to Galia Lahav, I already had an order placed for another dress. But once I went to the store and tried on Splendid, I couldn’t resist getting it. It was an indescribable feeling. I felt secure, flawless, and beautiful.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
When I put on my dress the day of my wedding, I felt like a princess. Everybody said how beautiful and elegant I looked.

Would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
My favorite part of planning the wedding was choosing my dress, the decorations, and the getting ready.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
I met my husband in college 11 years ago. He always had a crush on me, but I didn’t know. We started dating eight years later, and the rest is history. He proposed in a hot air balloon over Teotihuacan, Mexico. It was truly magical.

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
Working with the Miami store team was just incredible. Thai, Mary, and all the girls are super sweet and lovely. Once I walked in, I felt a beautiful vibe — this was definitely a very important part of the process.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
Before I found Splendid, I tried on two dresses, and after that, I had three more left, but I didn’t try them because I was already in love with my choice.
