A Dream in Provence: Helen Owen's Custom Galia Lahav Wedding Dress

A Dream in Provence: Helen Owen's Custom Galia Lahav Wedding Dress

Written By Jamie Joffe

Helen & Zack’s French Fairytale

Ten years after their first meeting in Mexico, Helen Owen and Zack Kalter—entrepreneurs and co-founders of the photo app Phlow—tied the knot in a sun-soaked celebration in Provence, France. The couple gathered family and friends for a weekend-long event at two breathtaking venues: the Carrières des Lumières and the historic Château d'Estoublon.

With sweeping lavender fields, ancient stone, and vibrant summer florals, the scene was straight from a storybook.
But the true centerpiece of the weekend?
Helen’s custom Galia Lahav wedding dress.

The Bridal Vision

When it came time to choose her wedding dress, Helen approached the process with intention. A lover of fashion, she explored several styles—including some from Galia Lahav’s signature collections—but knew she was looking for something truly her own.

She began imagining her ideal silhouette: refined yet romantic, bold yet timeless. As she explored ideas and sketched details that spoke to her style, the pieces slowly began to come together. That vision became reality when she connected with the Galia Lahav team.
In her very first design meeting with Head Designer Sharon Sever, the synergy was immediate. Without seeing Helen’s sketches, Sharon presented a concept that felt almost identical to her vision—confirming that this collaboration was meant to be.

A Gown Made for a Château Wedding

The final result was a fully bespoke couture gown that reflected the spirit of the South of France and the heart of the bride. Handcrafted in Israel, the design balanced structure and softness with delicate detailing, a sculptural bodice, and ethereal movement.
Set within the romantic backdrop of Château d'Estoublon, Helen’s dress became a natural extension of the celebration’s vibrant elegance—paired with floral installations in bold Provençal hues and a ceremony filled with color, light, and joy.
