We had the pleasure of dressing our beautiful bride Anna for her special day. Anna is wearing our Patchouli gown, from our Florida store Boca Raton Bridal. You can see how wonderful she looked in it in the photos below. Her stunning photos are shot by Mario Munoz Jr. from Munoz Photography. We asked Anna several questions about her special day and her is what she had to say:
1. What was the deciding factor when it came to picking out your gown?
“When I began looking for gowns I knew that I wanted a gown that was sexy but elegant, non-traditional, and different from every other dress I had seen. I wanted something that suited my personality.
It was like it was meant to be when the closest bridal store to me and they happened to carry your gowns. I went to Boca Bridal to look at gowns as it was right down the street from where I live, thinking I would be making endless trips to Miami to also look at all the notable bridal stores there, but all it took was to see your line and that was the end of dress shopping for me. Choosing my gown was probably one of the easiest decisions I had to make during my engagement period. I saw the Galia Lahav gowns in Boca Raton Bridal’s store and fell immediately in love. It was December of 2013 and I wasn’t getting married until March 7, 2015 and I had already found my dress. I tried on 4 different gowns, saving the Patchouli gown for last since it was my favorite. From the moment I put it on I was sold. However, I had so much time until the wedding I waited until the next trunk show to see the new spring designs, but nothing could change my mind. The Patchouli dress fit my personality perfectly. I loved it, my husband loved it when he saw it, and so did all of my family and friends. I couldn’t imagine anything more beautiful!”
2. How did your husband propose?
“My husband proposed to me on Sunday, November 17, 2013. We spent the night at the Hollywood Beach Marriott and Sunday morning we woke up to a beautiful day. After watching the sunrise from our balcony we decided to take a walk on the beach. Daniel was completely calm and nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I saw on the beach a heart made out of seashells and red rose petals. As we got closer to the heart I began to realize it was for me, it had our names written in seashells inside of it. At that point Daniel went on with the most beautiful speech, of which none of which I can actually remember, and then got down on one knee and told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I said yes, cried, jumped on top of him and the day only got more beautiful.”
3. Where did you get married and tell us about your wedding day?
“We got married in Key West, Florida the weekend of March 7, 2015. It turned out to be a gorgeous weekend full of love and tons of fun. It was like a modern day tropical fairytale. For the weekend we rented out an island right off the coast of Key West called Sunset Key Cottages. We had spent our first anniversary back in 2008 on the island and couldn’t imagine a more spectacular place to get married.”
“On the wedding day we began getting ready early with hair and make-up for our early afternoon ceremony at The Basilica of Saint Mary Star of the Sea. We chose not to do any pictures together that morning so that the first time Daniel would see me and my dress was when I walked into the church. Seeing his face light up when the doors opened was the most incredible feeling. He had no idea what I would be wearing because I never gave him the slightest clue. We read our own vows and the ceremony was beautiful.”
“After the ceremony our photographer, Mario Munoz Jr., took photos of us around Key West and back at Sunset Key before our cocktail hour began. Our cocktail hour was held at Latitude’s Restaurant during sunset, which could not have turned out to be more spectacular. After the cocktail hour a conch train transported our guests over to a vacant lot on the island where our reception was held in a tent. The tent was decorated with subtle twinkle lights, various light colored floral arrangements, and a large beautiful dance floor where we spent most of our night dancing to an incredible band called Libido based out of South Florida. We had the most tasteful surf and turf dinner from Chef Todd at Latitude’s along with a three-slide tequila ice luge. The four-hour reception flew by in what seemed like 5 minutes.
We had arranged at another location on the island for an after party for everyone else like us who never wanted the day to end. LED lights, fun party toys, sounds from DJ Crespo, and champagne spraying everywhere kept our guests going into all hours of the night. We even had a guest appearance from rap star French Montana.
Like I said the day was incredible I wouldn’t change a thing and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I loved my dress and still do and would love to wear it again!”
4. What was the highlight of your special day?
“The highlight of my day was definitely seeing Daniel’s face the moment he saw me for the first time in my dress at the church!”
