Our beautiful GLbride of the week is: Christina Arkouda. She wore a custom-made gown combining the Greta Garbo’s top and the Madison’s train the from the Tales Of Jazz collection and her story is amazing, you have to read it!
Christina met her husband when they were both 23 years old… They used to be students at the same university and the very first time they met was after a rock concert. Since then, they remain inseparable and really in love. They got married last summer and very soon they will have their first baby girl (almost ten years after their first meeting), SO EXCITING!!
The proposal was like it came out from a movie. He proposed during a romantic two-week vacation in the Caribbean. They traveled across the Atlantic Ocean from Greece where they live, and it was a dream come true. In an exotic, tropical surrounding located in Punta Cana, he had organized everything very carefully! He made a reservation in a beautiful restaurant for a small table of two, decorated with candles and rose petals as well as a special seafood dinner with great wine. After the dinner, the chef offered her a delicious chocolate cake, specially made for her and on top of it was written: “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” and at the same time, Christina’s husband offered her the ring and of course, she said YES filled with tears of true happiness!!
According to Christina, she always knew that her dress would be from Galia Lahav (so sweet). She knew what she wanted from the very first moment she saw the #TalesOfJazz collection advertisement in a wedding magazine. There it was, on the first page, the #Madison dress and in the second page the #GretaGarbo. After that, she contacted the b boutique store in Athens. It was the first store Christina visited, the first wedding gown she ever tried and she knew that it would be the last one as well. The only dilemma was choosing between the two dresses she felt in love with, as she thought that her perfect dress would be the combination between both of them and her dream came true, we made a custom made gown for her and she felt like a real princes!!!
Christina’s wedding was far beyond what she had dreamed of and exceeded all her expectations! They spent more than 8 months organizing every detail and it was perfect! The ceremony was held at a picturesque church on top of a hill with a stunning view of the ocean and the Venetian Castle of Platamon, close to the beach (this really sounds like a Disney movie don’t you think?). They had an incredible buffet, a band that welcomed the guests, presented a short movie (a tale of love) inspired on the era of the knights in which the couple and their friends starred in it and they even made an entrance with a passionate tango choreography, which they kept rehearsing during the whole year before the day. By the end of their dance, the sky was full of fireworks and the party lasted all night long!
Christina told us her favorite part was when she saw her man waiting for her at the stairs of the church and she was so sure he was the one for her and that they were meant to be together (this whole story has given us the chills, it is SO ROMANTIC). Christina loved every minute of it, the wedding dress fittings, the invitation designing, filming the movie, the dance lessons, the amazing quest for her wedding shoes with her friends in a short trip to Milan and lastly her bachelorette party which was held on the island of Mykonos.
This story sounds so dreamy that we can’t even believe it! We hope the best for this beautiful GLcouple and may we all have such a romantic story as this one!
