The Bride of the Day is Rachel Pybus, whom took extravagance to another level with the Tiger Lily from the Les Revs Bohemian Collection. It is with outmost desire to fulfil a bride’s dream come true and see her in complete admiration. We are inspired to see such beauty through our bride’s joy and delight from their experience.
I began researching wedding dresses on the internet and I knew I wanted something very unique. I really felt that lots of wedding dresses in the local shops were very much similar. When I discovered Galia Lahav I immediately fell in love with the dresses for their cut out lace, exquisite detail and illusion backs. I knew I wanted a dress that was fitted but also with a long flowing tulle train. I made an appointment at browns brides in London as I knew they were the only uk stockist of Galia. When I went for my appointment I was very disappointed to discover I had missed the trunk show by a week so I went on the Galia website to find out where the next closest one was as I really wanted the opportunity to try on all the collection. The next one was at Bloomfeld Amsterdam so I immediately made an appointment and myself and my maid of honour flew out to Amsterdam for the trunk show. when I tried all the dresses on i fell in love with Tiger Lilly as i loved the fact that it was a fitted mermaid style but the tulle peek a boo sides also meant it looked like a full dress. As one of your designers was there i had the amazing opportunity to make changes to the dress as i really wanted a sleeveless dress with an illusion back. i also extended the train and moved the lace panels down and closed the front of the dress so it really was a bespoke design. When i came over to Amsterdam to see the dress when it was ready i literally burst into tears with happiness and my maid of honour cried too. i was completely overwhelmed with the quality and the detail and was amazed how the designer had taken every little thing i had asked for on board. It was perfect beyond my wildest dreams. The only small problem was it had to be taken in 2 dress sizes as i had lost lots of weight in preparation for the wedding.
Ian and I met through work as he is a property manager for a shop i leased. When my shop got burgled i was really upset so ian came to see me to check i was ok, we had only ever spoken on the phone beforehand. The minute he walked through the door it was love at first site for both of us and we were quickly checking each others hands to see if either of us was married. It didn’t take me long to realise ian was the one as he told me in the early days his intentions were to ‘sweep me off my gorgeous feet’ and that he did. On valentines day 2015 during a flight to Mexico the captain announced “well ladies and gentleman it is valentines day and Ian on row 12 has a question for rachel” ian produced a box with the most beautiful ring in and asked me to marry him and everyone on the flight clapped and cheered. To say i was blown away was an understatement!
We wanted to ensure our guests enjoyed our wedding as much as us so we planned lots of entertainment including a gospel choir in the church, a singer and pianist for the drinks reception, a magician, racing car simulators for the younger guests, a band, DJ and fireworks to music. There were many highlights during the day but I was absolutely blown away by the gospel choir in the church. They really set the tone of the ceremony and the guests sang and clapped along with them to songs such as ‘oh happy day’. A particularly funny moment in the church was when the vicar asked ian if he would take Rachel to he his husband. Everyone roared with laughter and the vicar recovered from the mistake very well and left us wondering whether he had said it on purpose to calm the nerves.
The staff at bloomfeld luxury bridal were amazing from start to finish, especially Petra and Patrick. They made the whole journey a very special one and always made me feel important to them and that i was a beautiful bride. They were always at hand with any questions i had and were very accommodating with appointments around flight times etc.
