Our Bride of the Day is Kristen Tartaglione, we are so thrilled to be a part of such a magical moment, it is not just about the gown, the experience is just as important. It is a pleasure to be a part of such a special moment in our brides life. Congrats to you and you husband who are so incredibly in LOVE!
Even before Joe and I got engaged, I started planning my wedding, creating a secret board on Pinterst with everything that I envisioned having for my wedding day. I came across the Galia Lahav Fiona dress and fell in love (although this was not the dress that I ended up selecting), it was unlike any wedding dress I have ever seen. I immediately started following Galia Lahav on Instagram and pinterest. Right after Joe and I got engaged in 2014, I saw a posting for a trunk show at Bridal Reflections in NYC. I tried on 5 Galia Lahav dresses at my appointment, and the Dolce dress was the second dress that I tried on. I knew I loved the dress, but thought something was missing. Christina at Bridal Reflections suggested I try the dress again, but this time with the Alora train that I also loved. As soon as I saw myself in the mirror with the Dolce Dress with added Alora train, I knew I had my dress. It was everything I was looking for, and made me feel beautiful, sexy and elegant
Joe and I met at work. We were both dating someone else at the time, but became instant friends. A few years later, we both found ourselves single and decided to go dinner and a movie after work one night to see the new Spider Man movie. We just had an amazing time, and from then on, we started hanging out and talking all the time. He is everything I could ever want in a man. He is handsome, outgoing, kind, selfless and funny, and just compliments me. We both enjoy being outdoors and love a good superhero movie. 7 years later, Joe proposed while on vacation in Hawaii on top of the largest mountain at sunset. It was perfect and so romantic.
There are two highlights that really stand out to me. The first one was when we did our first look before the ceremony. I don’t think I have ever seen Joe cry, but I kept nagging him that I wanted at least one tear from him when he first saw me in my dress. We did our first look by the Carousel in Dumbo Brooklyn. When Joe first saw me in my dress, his jaw literally fell open, and the tears began to fall. Even today, almost a month after our wedding he brags about my dress to everyone he talks to. The second was seeing two rainbows at the reception. It was raining on and off all day that day, but a few hours into the reception, the sun came out and two rainbows appeared. I don’t think I have ever seen such full and clear rainbows. Joe’s parents are both deceased, so seeing the rainbows that day, made me feel like they were with us and smiling down on us.
We were practicing for our first kiss a few days before the wedding, and at one point I said that I thought it would be funny to shake hands instead of kiss when the priest pronounced us man and wife. Joe took this seriously, so when the priest said “you may kiss your bride”, Joe stuck out his hand for me to shake it. Needless to say it got a good laugh from all of our family and friends.
I loved every moment of trying on the different Galia Lahav dresses at Bridal Reflections. All of the women there are amazing! It was the only place I went to to try dresses on since they carry the Galia gowns. From my first appointment, they made me feel like I was their most important customer.
