For today’s post, please meet our so adorable bride Annalisa who got married in NY, Brookville. She got married in a customised Odette
gown and looked absolutely ravishing in it! As you would see in the great pictures taken by her talented photographer
, she was without a doubt the queen of the day! We had the intimate pleasure to ask her a few questions about the ceremony and the preparations, so enjoy!
1. With so many bridal options today, what was the deciding factor when it came to picking out your gown?
After trying on about 10 dresses I thought I found THE dress but then the VP of Bridal Reflections, Cristina, came in to introduce herself and told me she had one more for me to try on. She came back with an amazing Galia Lahav gown that I didn’t think I could pull off but as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one! We even worked with the Galia Lahav team to customize a detachable ball gown overskirt so I can get the 2 looks in 1 that I desperately wanted! The ease and comfort in choosing my gown and customizing it convinced me that I was definitely making the right decision.
2. How did you meet your husband and how did you know he was the one?
One of my friends was having a get together at her house one night to catch up. Her boyfriend was bringing a friend that everyone else had met but I hadn’t yet. Vincent (my husband) was the friend. Once I met him I knew something was special about him. We began talking more and more after that night and the rest is history. He was unlike any other man I had ever met, he treats me with respect and is so loving. Vincent always acts with my best interest in mind, I knew very early on in our relationship I was going to marry him one day.
3. Where did you get married and can you tell us about your wedding day?
Our wedding day was magical, almost like a fairytale. It was filled with an extreme amount of love from our two big families. Our colors were white, graphite/gray with silver accents and lace details. We were married at my childhood church, St Paul The Apostle in Brookville, New York. Followed by a reception at the Harbor Club at Prime in Huntington, New York. We filled the church and reception with my favorite flowers, white phalaenopsis orchids. Our wedding day was THE best day in our lives and we love looking at photos and videos and reliving it.
4. What was the highlight of your special day?
My favorite memory of the day was walking down the isle of the church and seeing Vincent and his beyond happy expression at the end waiting for me, knowing that I was finally going to become his wife.
5. Can you tell us a fun anecdote about your wedding day?
I really enjoyed my wedding day but I think my niece and nephew (my flower girl and ring bearer) who are 7 and 3 years old had an even better time! They loved the attention they received and were stars on the dance floor! Their smiles stretched from ear to ear the entire day. During my Matron of Honor’s toast my nephew grabbed the microphone from her and we all thought he was going to say something but he ended up just screaming with excitement! The both of them enjoyed themselves so much I found them sound asleep in the bridal suite at the end of the night.
6. Did everything go as you dreamt it or planned it? Or did something unexpected happened?
The whole day went even better than I could have ever dreamt or planned. We had been planning the wedding for almost a year and half and this was the moment we had been waiting for. Actually going through the day and experiencing everything that we so carefully planned and feeling the love from our family and friends is indescribable and priceless!
