Find your nearest boutique

Whether you have been dreaming of your wedding dress since you were a little girl, or never gave it one thought until you became engaged, finding a gown that meets your expectations can be incredibly stressful. Not only is this the most expensive garment you may ever purchase, but it can set the tone for your entire wedding.

At Galia Lahav, we offer gorgeous bridal gowns in a variety of styles at boutique locations all over the world. We place an emphasis on the personalization and customization of your dress, so you can walk down the aisle in a style that is uniquely you. If you are unsure where to start, below are some of the most common elements of wedding dresses that brides will consider for their look.

Length

Wedding dresses can come in a variety of different lengths: traditionally long, asymmetrical, tea length, knee length, short, high-low hems, and transformational. The length of your wedding dress is entirely up to you. If you want to follow a classic, fairy-tale wedding style, a long dress would be a great option. If you are more about bending the rules, shorter, high-low, or transformational dresses may suit your tastes. You also want to consider its functionality – how hard is it to get in and out of, and can you sit down with ease?

Sleeves

The sleeves of your wedding dress can be determined by your own personal tastes, the season of your wedding, and the overall style of dress you are looking for. Though a long-sleeved dress may look elegant and conservative, it would not be the best choice for an outdoor wedding in August. Alternatively, unless your venue is well heated, a strapless dress in the winter could leave you shivering on your big day. Be sure to pick a sleeve style that works with your figure and that you are comfortable in. If you do not like your arms in cap sleeves, cross this style off your list completely.

Neckline

The neckline of your garment can make or break your perception of the entire dress. You not only want something you feel comfortable and confident in but you want a couture wedding dress that accentuates your figure. Neckline options can include bateau, on-shoulder, illusion, scoop, strapless, sweetheart, v-neck, halter, and jewel. Pick a dress with a neckline that is as conservative or as revealing as you want, and that also fits within the overall theme of your big day.

The most important thing to remember when choosing your dream dress is to pick something that is true to you. It is easy to get caught up in all of the styles and opinions that are out there, so keep your choices between 4-7 dresses to avoid being overwhelmed.

Our couture wedding designer at Galia Lahav will help you create the ideal gown for your wedding. Whether you want a dress that will leave people breathless at the ceremony, one to rock the dance floor in at your reception or a bit of both, we will ensure your dream dress is perfect for everything you have planned.
