Our #GLBride of the week is the beautiful Page Gorski, who enjoyed the wedding of her dreams while wearing our G-1009 gown. Page and her fiancé held their destination wedding in Santorini, Greece with a gorgeous ceremony and celebration. In the following interview, Page shares her favorite wedding day moments and how she became a GL bride. As told by Page:
What is a moment from you wedding day that you will never forget?
A moment of my wedding day I will never forget- seeing my husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle. He looked so handsome and had tears in his eyes. I wanted to give him a huge hug and kiss right then!
What is one piece of advice you would give?
One thing I wish I knew and advice I would give – It’s your day! Don’t let anybody else make any of the decisions for you. It is one of the biggest days of your life and if you let somebody else choose how things go, you will end up upset that it didn’t feel like “You”.
What is a special detail from your wedding?
A detail that made my wedding special is that we had it in Santorini, Greece which is 6,500 miles away from home in Texas, USA! All of our friends and family made it into a trip that they will never forget. We loved that everybody traveled and made it into a vacation.
How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
I knew that my dress was the one the second I laid eyes on it. I got the biggest smile on my face, my mom cried when I tried it on, and I literally could not take it off!
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
On the day of the wedding when I put on my dress, it just felt like the finishing touch. I felt so beautiful. Everyone’s reaction was that they knew my dress would look that way and it had my name written all over it like it was made for me!
Would you have done anything differently?
The only thing I would have done differently on my wedding day was get a photo in my veil indoors. It was extremely windy the day of our wedding so I was not able to wear my veil at all, and we forgot to put it on for a single photo. I am so sad about that!
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
My favorite part of the wedding to plan was the music! My husband and I love listening to music, singing, and dancing. We found an amazing band out of London that we had to fly in for the wedding! The saxophone player would come out into the dance circle and play his tunes along with the lead singer, it felt like a concert and wedding in one which was awesome for us.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
My husband and I met through friends while I was visiting Nashville, Tennessee. We dated long distances for 8 months until he moved to Dallas, Texas. He proposed by taking me to all of our “first” spots (first dinner date, first coffee shop, first cocktail bar) then got down on one knee on the rooftop of a famous hotel in downtown Dallas where we used to spend a lot of time together. It was perfect!
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
Working with the team at Galia Lahav could not have been better. My dress was even more beautiful when it came in than I imagined!
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I went to one store and found a couple of dresses that I liked, but none that really wowed me. When I went into Stanley Korshak, I told Renee my style and what I was looking for. She looked at me and said, “You’re a Galia bride”. She held up two dresses, one being the one I chose. My face lit up and I pointed at it and said “That’s the one!!” Once I tried it on there was no point in trying on any others! That dress was seriously made for me.
