Our #GLBride of the Week is the gorgeous Nikki Sharp, who walked down the aisle in our custom-made Giovanna gown. The couple held a romantic three-day wedding event in Capri, Italy which was filled with unforgetable experiences on the magical Amalfi Coast. Today, we'll be sharing their beautiful love story along with Nikki's journey to becoming a GL Bride.
Pascal Kummert and Nikki Sharp met online, but not in your typical way. He slid into Nikki’s DM’s after seeing her profile on Raya and got to know her in the way her community of 450,000 do, by reading her lengthy captions about health, spirituality, and travels. She was funny, unapologetic, vulnerable, and in the business of helping people transform their life. Pascal knew he wanted to message her and found the perfect opportunity when she went on a vacation with Andrea Rogers and three other women during the pandemic, asking about the restrictions of St. Lucia.
It wasn’t long before they were texting each other with deep questions about life, values, and a possible partnership. Next came a phone call, a week later a facetime date, and one week after Pascal flew from New York to take Nikki out. After a few dates, Pascal made the bold move to ask Nikki if he could come to stay at Four Seasons Nevis for New Year’s, where she’d be to spend time with a client. The two played it off like they didn’t know each other to everyone and within one week Nikki’s client and the hotel thought there was a budding romance (and even marriage) that happened by chance at the stunning property.
The story unfolds with even more interest as they decided within two months that they wanted to get married and within four months of dating, the couple hired a wedding planner in Italy and began preparations although not yet engaged. Pascal popped the question six months after they met at Four Seasons Ocean Club in Paradise Island after calling both Nikki’s parents for their blessing, although not yet meeting them due to Covid. A private set up on the beach, a singer named Angel blessing them with her music from the restaurant above, and a photographer hiding in the bushes led to the most sensational and romantic proposal one could think of.
Cut to July 23, 2022, Pascal and Nikki were married on a three-day weekend on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy. The location was chosen based on “La Dolce Vita” where the couple could tie in various events for guests to experience the Italian magic of the Amalfi Coast. The weekend began on Friday, July 22nd with a hike led by the bride and groom from Anacapri center to the Philosophers Park, where one can meditate on life through the spectacular views from the top of the island.The welcome event takes place at 7 pm at Hotel Caesar Augustus, where guests were greeted with sweeping views from the terrace that juts out from the mountainside. As the bride is a former model, she loves fashion and creating exceptional outfits.
On July 23, Pascal and Nikki said I do at the rooftop of a 6* hotel, Capri Palace Jumeriah at 6 pm while the sun glistened over the Mediterranean Sea. Guests were transported, followed by the newlyweds in the classic red open-top car, down the winding roads to Michelin-starred Il Riccio, part of Capri Palace. Upon arriving on the terrace, a friend to the couple, Baroness Nicola Winspeare Guicciardi played tunes while Aperol Spritz’s are passed around. The party moved one level below to the open-air restaurant, where 10,000 fairy lights come alive as the sun sets over the glistening water. What makes this evening even more special is that Angel has been flown in from the Bahamas. The couple was so enamored with her during their engagement they could think of no one better.
Post dinner it’s time for the Temptation Room, where guests can indulge in their heart’s desire for dessert. Then it’s back up to the terrace for a show of the Italian-style cake is made live, followed by dancing. The last day brings guests to Lido Del Faro where one can jump into the spectacular waters, dine on freshly made pasta, and relax in the sun.
The bride’s dress, made by Galia Lahav is a celestial ball gown fully embroidered with scattered crystals and beads that replicate a northern star galaxy. The embellishments wrap around the novelty pinwheel-shaped skirt like stars in the sky. It is strapless with a corset bodice and is one of Galia’s favorite gowns. After meeting Nikki in to help her with measurements, she quoted “I love meeting our GL brides personally, it is always such a special moment for me! When I had the pleasure to meet Nikki at our Flagship store in Miami, I was so happy to see her in one of my all-time favorite gowns – The GIOVANNA! It reminded me of that feeling when I saw the first-ever sample of it – a feeling of excitement and loads of emotions! I can’t wait to see Nikki on her big day and I am so excited to welcome her to the GL Brides Family!”
