Danielle Abramov’s Gorgeous Beachside Wedding

Bride Of The Week: Danielle Abramov

Our #GLBride week is the lovely Danielle Abramov, who wore our G-302 gown as she tied-the-knot with her fiancé Nathan. The two decided on a beautiful destination wedding at the Chileno Bay Resort in Mexico. In the following interview, Danielle shares a few special moments from her big day and her one-of-a-kind GL experience. As told by Danielle:

How did you meet your husband? Tell us a little bit about your relationship.

Nathan and I met in Tel Aviv at our mutual good friend’s wedding. We went to the same elementary school in Los Angeles and had so many mutual friends but had to travel thousands of miles to meet. We were in a long-distance relationship for 8 months until I finally moved to the Bay Area to be with Nathan and for my dream job at LinkedIn. 4 years later, here we are!

How did he propose?

Cabo has always been a special place in our relationship. Nathan told me he loved me for the first time on our trip and it just became our go-to vacation spot. After 2.5 years of dating, Nathan planned a trip to Cabo for “my birthday.” He organized the trip from A to Z – restaurants, the hotel, our entire itinerary. On our way to dinner one night, he convinced me that I looked so tan and should wear a white outfit that I had packed. While walking on the beach to enter the restaurant, he started saying, “So the beach has always been a special place in our relationship…” and then went down on one knee and I wish I could remember the rest!

How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?

Nathan knows I’m a planner and already had hotel meetings lined up right after we got engaged for the remainder of our trip. It was so perfect because we always knew we wanted to get married in Cabo and were able to close our venue during the weekend we were already there!

What was your wedding theme?

Our theme was a tropical jungle. We both love Tulum and were inspired by the backdrop of the ocean to go along that theme.

How did you choose your location?

We fell in love with Chileno Bay Resort, specifically for the beach-front property and paradise feel that it gave. We had most of our events on the property to make it easy for our guests.

How did you find your perfect dress?

Galia Lahav was the first spot I went to see dresses…and it made it very difficult to go anywhere else after it. I didn’t have an idea of what I wanted, but Anthony helped me realize what style complimented my body most and what was the classy/beachy vibe I was going for.

When I tried on THE dress, we just knew! I was lucky enough to have the owner of the Galia Lahav property on-site with her best friend, my mom, and my sisters to pop a bottle of champagne open and decide which one I should go with. It was so exciting and I wish I could explain the feeling when I just knew!

How was your experience with the Galia Lahav brand?

Unbelievable. From start to finish, the staff especially Anthony and the seamstress on site were so helpful and kind. There are so many options that it could be overwhelming, but I was so impressed with the process at Galia Lahav. They made it so seamless and enjoyable.

What was the most important thing for you and your husband when planning your wedding?

We just wanted to have all of our best friends and family celebrating with us while being on their own vacation. A destination wedding allows for everyone to feel more laid back and ready to party. We are so happy we were able to make it happen especially after the year we all had.

What was your first wedding song?

We danced to “I’m Your Lady” by Celine Dion. Fireworks started to go off when the beat dropped and it was so magical.

What did you enjoy the most about planning your wedding?

I felt so calm because we had the most incredible wedding planners, Elena Damy. Nathan and I planned our own wedding so we were able to make our own decisions and that made it SO much more fun. We had a lot of fun planning every detail but felt at ease knowing we had great help locally in Cabo.

What advice would you give to all our future brides?

If you’re not having fun during the process, change it. Getting married is one of the most exciting times in your life and it should be enjoyable. You don’t want to look back and wish you had more fun doing it.

What moment from your wedding will you never forget?

The energy. It was magical. Our family and friends were dancing all weekend and love was truly in the air.
