We're thrilled to introduce our stunning GL Bride of the week, Valerie! She recently said "I do" to the love of her life wearing our G-302 gown from the No.VII collection. Valerie and her partner's love story is nothing short of magical, and they recently celebrated their nuptials in a beautiful and intimate ceremony officiated by her brother. In the following interview, Valerie shares with us all the special moments from her wedding day and why she chose the gown our G-302! As told by Valerie:
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
I will never forget during our reception dinner, my husband (officially for like 2 hours) and I looking out at all of our closest family members and friends. It was such a special feeling seeing all our loved ones gathered in one place, and coming together to celebrate us. We can’t think of any other event where we would have everyone we loved all in one space. We have never felt so loved as we did in that moment. Our guests came up to us in groups surrounding our sweetheart table to chat with us throughout the dinner too which we really loved.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
I wish I really listened when people told me that your wedding day will go by so fast! For future brides, I would say really take the time to enjoy the whole planning process and all the little events leading up to the big day! While the big day is something to look forward to, it is just one day, so it’s important to enjoy the whole engagement time too!
I wouldn’t say it’s super unique to us, but it felt really special to have my brother officiate our wedding, my niece and nephew be the flower girl and ring bearer and also to have Ben’s sister be in our bridal party.
I had an idea of what kind of dress I thought would suit me and my style, but still went into dress shopping with an open mind. I had tried on so many dresses beforehand that I nitpicking at what I liked and disliked. The moment I slipped on my dress and came out to show it, I knew. I loved the detailing, the bit of sparkle, beading, two tone coloring and of course the fit!
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
The moment I put on my dress I felt like it was just for me like a second skin! I felt so beautiful and comfortable in it. I could not imagine myself getting married in anything else. Everyone thought it was so perfect for me!
I wouldn’t change a single thing! My husband and I honestly think back to that day a lot and how perfect it was. It truly was the happiest day of our lives thus far!
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
I was so excited to see our florals in person! After discussing my vision with our florist, it was so amazing to see it in person. She honestly did such a great job bringing it to life, and it was even better than I could have even imagined.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
It was amazing! Honestly so seamless. The dress shop I went to took my measurements initially, and when my dress arrived it almost fit perfectly! After just one alteration, mostly just to hem it to my height, it fit like a glove!
