With an elegant beachfront wedding at the stunning Chileno Bay venue in Los Cabos, Mexico, Taylor, and her fiance said "I Do" and celebrated their nuptials in the most breathtaking setting.
In the following interview, Taylor shares her favorite wedding moments and how she found the dress of her dreams! As told by Taylor:
A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?
I will never forget my husband and I’s first look. We read our private vows to one another before the ceremony and it made for the most special moment between us. We are a very private couple so we really enjoyed this intimate time together.
One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?
Everyone talks about how fast your wedding day goes by and they couldn’t be more right. If I could go back I would’ve started getting ready earlier than I had planned so that I could take some time after getting ready to get in a peaceful mindset before everything started.
One of my favorite details about our wedding day was my getting-ready robe. I had a close friend of mine make a robe out of my mom’s wedding dress. I got to design the whole thing and it made such a fun and sentimental project. I plan to pass the robe down to my sisters when they get married.
I will admit at first I was stuck between this dress and another. After going back and forth trying the two on I immediately knew this was the one. It felt like me. I’m not that emotional of a person so I did not cry or have some intense visceral reaction when I found “The One”. I simply felt at ease & 100% confident it was my dress. I didn’t want to take it off and I didn’t want to try on any others.
How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?
I felt like the most beautiful bride on my wedding day. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect dress for my body. My friends and family were taken aback by how gorgeous my dress was. I’ll never forget my sisters and best friends gasping once I got the dress on.
I would have had a plan in place to try to preserve my flower bouquet. Since we were having a wedding out of the country I figured I wouldn’t fool with trying to find a way to get my bouquet back home and preserved. I didn’t realize how in love I would be with it and was so upset to leave it behind.
What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?
My favorite part of the wedding to plan, other than finding my dress, had to be searching for a venue. We knew we wanted to get married in Cabo San Lucas on the beach so we searched for weeks until deciding on Chileno Bay. It was so fun to look at all the different resorts in Cabo and imagine which resort we could see ourselves getting married at.
How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
I met my husband through mutual friends. At first, we kept things friendly as I was traveling a lot at the time. It wasn’t until 2 years later after I had graduated from college that we reconnected and started getting romantically involved.
Four years into our relationship, Will had planned a date night for us. We had dinner at one of our favorite Asian cuisine restaurants then took his boat out on the lake for an evening sunset cruise. It was truly a surprise – the proposal and the ring. Confessing his desire to make me his wife in privacy, where we could be our most authentic selves, was more than I could ask for in a proposal.
How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?
I loved working with the Galia Lahav team to find my dream dress. My bridal consultant was so friendly and fun to work with during my appointment. She made me feel so comfortable and was very knowledgeable about the construction and details of every dress which I really enjoyed learning about. The store team overall was great to work with and made me feel so special.
How many dresses did you try on before you found it?
I tried on only a couple of dresses before I knew this was the one. I will look back on this dress as a highlight of my wedding forever. The gown’s sheerness, 3D embroidered flowers, and mermaid fit was everything I had been dreaming of.
