Our GL Bride of the week is the beautiful Jessica Choi Smyth, who married her fiancée, Kathleen in our Jasmine gown. The two celebrated their nuptials with loved ones at the gorgeous Korakia venue in Palm Springs. In the following interview, Jessica shares with us the details surrounding their wedding day. As told by Jessica:

How did you meet?

Kathleen and I met in the classiest of ways. We matched on Tinder as Kathleen was headed back to New York to shoot Best Time Ever. We talked for 6 months before our first date!

How did the Galia Lahav dress make you feel when you put it on?

When I put the dress on, I knew instantly that it was the one. It made me feel so elegant yet comfortably confident, and excited for the big day!

Who's reaction were you most looking forward to on the big day? How did they react when they saw you?

As two women, we did things a little unconventionally. We took advantage of being able to dress shop together, joined by our friends. She had seen the dress before but her reaction was just amazement each time and I couldn’t be happier. It was just perfect.

Did you have a vision for your dress? How did you know it was 'the one'?

It’s odd right, cause as women we grow up watching so many rom coms about Weddings – Runaway Bride, Father of the Bride, even Bridesmaids. You have those scenes where they’re trying on a dress and they fall in love with it. I remember watching those and doubting that feeling. I grew up a tomboy so dresses were a necessity for events and quick entry into LA venues for nights out. I didn’t have a vision or an idea of what I wanted. I must have tried on about 10 dresses in total. But when I put the Jasmine on, I just knew. It’s a feeling you can’t describe in words but most similar to the feeling I felt when I met Kathleen.

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

There were so many moments perfect for that moment and so many different emotions felt that day. The ceremony reminded us of how special this union was and one we don’t take for granted. There was no shortage of tears as our friend Steve read the speech from the day same-sex marriage was legalized. Moments watching the faces of family and friends having the most unlikely interactions. The dance floor sums up the love and joy we felt surrounded by our nearest and dearest. And most importantly, they say the smile on my wife’s face that day could be seen by those that could not attend.

Who proposed? How did they propose?

I proposed to Kathleen in Tulum. We had been there a few times and it had a special place in our hearts. While I had a Sharman and proposal at Kaan Luum Lagoon planned, there was a thunderstorm that day and the roads had closed. It felt like a sign to keep it simple and natural, so I proposed on the beach over breakfast the next day. It was gorgeous out and she said yes!

Tell us a bit more about the wedding itself!

We had about 120 people at our wedding, Korakia is a gorgeous Moroccan/Mediterranean style venue in Palm Springs so we kept to that color scheme. Our florist enhanced what flowers already existed on property!

I found my dress at Galia Lahav on La Brea! Anthony was such a pleasure to work with. He was patient and honest, and showed genuine interest in finding us our perfect dresses. Thanks Anthony!
