Our #GLBride of the week is the gorgeous Jenna Kaufman, who married the love of her life in our GALA 520 . The two celebrate their nuptials with a beautiful skyline wedding at the Hotel X Toronto. In the following interview, Jenna shares her experience of becoming a GL Bride along with wedding moments she will never forget. As told by Jenna:

A moment of your wedding day you will never forget?

A moment from our wedding day that I will never forget is seeing Jesse walking up to the alter to wait for me. I instantly started bawling my eyes out when I saw him in the distance.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

As a new bride, I wish I knew that not everything goes as planned but everything will work out perfectly in the end. I would tell other new brides not to sweat the small stuff and just enjoy every moment you’re in it.

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

My dad passed away 4 years ago but I still wanted him to be part of my day so I had his photo made on a charm with the lyrics to the song he said he would dance with me at my wedding engraved on the back. The charm was pinned to my bouquet, so it felt like he was still walking me down the aisle.

How did you know your dress was “the one”?

I knew my dress was the one when I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “Oh my gosh, I look like a bride!”

How did you feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone’s reaction to the dress?

I felt like a bride in my dress. I felt both feminine and sexy in it. The only person who had seen my dress before the wedding was my mum, so everyone was completely surprised. No one expected me to wear a princess dress (because my other Galia dress is tight fitting G-104) I wanted to do something fun and magical for this wedding (my other one was May 20, 2022) and it was everything I had hoped for.

Would you have done anything differently?

Not a single thing!

What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

My favorite part was dress shopping. I am not a planner, that’s why I had a full-service wedding planner Laura from Muse Event Co. She took care of everything so I could enjoy all the fun stuff like dress shopping. There really is nothing more fun than trying on wedding dresses.

How did you meet your husband? How did he purpose?

I met Jesse through my auntie Sarah. She is a hairstylist and did Jesse’s mom’s hair for his brother’s wedding on Saturday, July 15, 2017. I had just come home from Florida and went to see her on July 16, and she had shown me a photo of Jesse’s mom standing with him and his brothers. She said to me, you must see this mother of the groom’s hair I did, she’s so beautiful she could be the bride. When she showed me the photo my eye immediately went to Jesse and I said wow she’s really pretty, who’s that in the photo with her, pointing to Jesse. She said that’s her youngest son, I think he’s single. So, I told her to feel free to pass on my number. We went on our first date 4 days later…

We took our first photo together at the top of Blue Mountain, Ontario and he purposed at the top of the mountain 3 years later. He took me to the spot we took the photo and pointed it out so naturally, I thought he was going to as me then. A minute goes by, and he says “okay, let’s keep going”. So, I didn’t think it was going to happen anymore. Before we left, we stopped at this beautiful lookout and he surprised me by purposing then!

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

Working with both White Toronto and Galia Lahav was a dream. They were so professional and accommodating and to everything I had envisioned in the dress. We had added some personal touches to it, like the thigh-high slit and the lining. We also added some additional flower applique to the dress and the veil. This wedding was also planned for about three months and team Galia was wonderful at making sure my dress came in time. I am very grateful to them.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

This last question is a toughie! This was my second Galia Lahav dress that I chose, and it was even more difficult to pick than my first one. I knew exactly what I wanted to shape and style-wise for my original dress which made it a no-brainer when I chose it. For this wedding I wanted a completely different look that would non mimic the original dress. I wanted it to have its own moment to shine. I tried on about 6 or 7 dresses in similar styles to the original and a couple in between before I put this dress on. Once I did, I knew it couldn’t be beat. It was everything I had envisioned, and I could not be happier with the way it turned out.
