Introducing our GL Bride Of The Week, the breathtaking Elyssa Aquino! Elyssa looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day dressed in our Faye gown from the Urban Love Story Collection. The couple exchanged their heartfelt vows at the romantic Quinta de Sant'ana Mafra in Portugal, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

In the following interview, Elyssa shares her cherished memories and plenty of tips for soon-to-be GL Brides! As told by Elyssa:

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

I will never forget seeing my husband for the first time during our “first look”. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, that feeling of excitement and nervousness reminded me of the first time we met 4 years ago.

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride? What advice would you give to future brides?

Eat your food, I mean it! As brides we get so overwhelmed with the wedding, we forget to eat. Eat the cake goddammit, you deserve it!

A detail that made your wedding special/unique?

Me and my husband have always said music is our love language. Last year my husband proposed in a small record store in New York. We felt it would be special to incorporate those details into our wedding so we had a vintage record player that served as our guest book, and we still use that record player til this day.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

I knew my wedding dress was the one because the dress reminded me of my relationship, beautiful, delicate, sexy, and romantic.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding? What was everyone's reaction to the dress?

When I put my dress on the day of my wedding, I felt so beautiful. I felt like I was living in my own skin, in the best version of myself. I felt comfortable and authentic. I just felt like me.

Would you have done anything differently?

I wouldn’t have done anything differently.

What was your favourite part of the wedding to plan/you were most looking forward to?

My favorite thing I planned for our wedding was the live music. We had a choir that sang some of our favorite Hip-hop songs, and we had violinists that played our favorite songs. Could you imagine having a violin quartet playing Bad Bunny? It was fantastic!

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

My husband proposed at a tiny record store in New York City. I always said music was our love language, I guess he was listening…

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

I knew I wanted a Galia Lahav dress before I even had a fiance, but what I didn’t know was how wonderful the team behind the brand was. It was truly a magical experience working with this brand. They made me feel so special throughout this entire journey.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

I tried on 12 dresses before I found this dress.
