Our GL Bride of the week is the gorgeous Alexis Salerno. Alexis and her husband met thanks to the wonders of technology when Facebook accidentally brought them together. Knowing all along she was going to get married in a Galia Lahav backless gown, Alexis chose the iconic Tony and looked absolutely dazzling. As told by Alexis:

How did you meet your husband?

We met on Facebook when I was a study abroad student in Vienna, Austria. I showed up in his “people you may know” section even though we had zero mutual friends. He had previously lived in Vienna as well, so I think Facebook’s algorithm must have connected us this way.

How did you he propose?

My husband proposed to me 3 years later in Vienna, Austria. Since this was a special place for both of us and essentially how we met, we took a summer vacation and he proposed to me at the beautiful Schönbrunn Palace. It was magical. We dated for 3 years before he proposed.

How did you find your perfect dress? And how did you decide to buy it?

I knew that I wanted a dress with an iconic low back and a dress made by an Israeli designer. Galia Lahav has always been one of my all-time favorite wedding dress and couture designers. I visited Bridal Reflections in New York City multiple times with my maid of honor and my mother and finally found the perfect dress an afternoon that I went alone. I immediately fell in love with the dress after putting it on.

Where was your wedding?

My wedding was at a beautiful chic barn venue on open farmland near Nashville, Tennessee. The wedding venue is called Mint Springs Farm in Nolensville, TN.

What was the theme? Did it require special planning? Share with us.

The theme was shabby chic. Although the venue is set on rolling hills and farmland, we wanted the wedding to be upscale and ultra chic. Think New York meets Tennessee (my two homes). The details included all white florals, greenery, candles set in glasses and beautiful stained wood.

Which was your favorite part?

I have two favorite parts of my wedding. The first part was seeing my husband for the first time on our wedding day. I felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest. My second favorite part of my wedding was when my husband surprised me with a saxophone performance at our reception. He had taught himself for the last year how to play my favorite song on the saxophone and performed in front of all of our guests. It was the surprise of my life and I all-time fell to my knees in shock. I will never forget it!

How was your experience with the Galia Lahav brand?

I was familiar with the brand before engaging with it. A friend of mine wore a beautiful backless Galia Lahav gown at her wedding in Miamifarmlandand. I knew that I would find my dream wedding gown at Galia Lahav. My experience was wonderful from start to finish.

Where did you purchase the dress?
What did you enjoy the most about planning your wedding?

I enjoyed every second of it. I tried not to let the little things stress me out and I tried to enjoy the whole process. I loved coming home and discussing wedding details and plans with my husband. I know this is often a difficult time for couples with lots of arguing, but we enjoyed the wedding planning. It was a dream to see all of our design and inspiration come to life on the wedding day.

Was your wedding the way you dreamed it?

It was everything I ever dreamed of and more.
