Alegria, our latest couture collection, was created with a special moment in mind. That is, the moment a bride glides down the aisle and imbues the room with her iridescent glow: her happiness. Although her charm is all her own, a dress from the Alegria collection will only maximise her regal allure.

This season showcases a nuanced variety of options while simultaneously staying true to character with intricate details and strong feminine silhouettes. From the finest lace to the most beautiful of crystal finishes, each dress embodies majestic elegance – which gives an air of tasteful opulence. After approximately six months toiling over each creation, our couture collection metamorphosed into these enthralling gowns fit for a rainha. They were born of passion and determination, having been swept in by the warm coastal breeze of one of Europe’s most captivating cities: Lisbon. Bonita Lisboa; where soft, pastel-coloured buildings vy for attention against golden-sand beaches and turquoise shores. With embroidered lace, flowing trains and a delicately fitted silhouette, the gowns do all the work while mother nature frames a happy, liberated  bride.

This collection gives you long, yet subtle, accented patterns of cloudy lace that often drape low to show off a back adorned with barely-there floral motifs. Each dress is fit for every part of the bridal ceremony: from alter to ballroom. But, regardless of the location, why was this the country of choice for the latest offering? “I was drawn to the beauty of Portuguese culture: with its architecture, music, and people,” said our designer, Sharon Sever, of his inspirations.

Great care is taken to ensure this precious event is memorable for every bride, as Sharon can attest. “From the first steps of inspiration to the final touches of needle points and hems, there is a long journey,” he says. “Each collection is a result of research and is a labor of Love.” And it shows. At times crystalline flowers can be spotted floating on the skirts of one of the dresses, encasing the bride’s every step with dynamic grace. In other dresses, the arms are wrapped up in a vine of white flowers, making these otherwise overlooked features a veritable work of art.

Great care is taken to ensure these precious moments, those only a wedding can provide, are memorable for every bride, as the collection’s designer Sharon Sever can attest. “From the first steps of inspiration to the final touches of needle points and hems, there is a long journey,” he says. “Each collection is a result of research and is a labor of Love.” And it shows. At times the flowers of a meadow can be seen floating on the skirts of one of the dresses, encasing the bride’s every step with magical elegance. The mountain of villas hum with life from the crow of dawn and are awash with glitter come dusk. It’s no wonder this stunning city was such a great source of inspiration, but Sharon attributes it to a more personal reason: A few of my closest friends are Portuguese and they are very inspirational in my life,” he says. But art and design reign supreme. Known for the gorgeous tiles that allude to centuries of heritage and evoke captivating imagery, Lisbon was a choice unique from any other city. “The Azulejos of Portugal are so strikingly beautiful and were a wonderful inspiration for embroidery,” continues Sharon. “So it was only natural to use the real initial inspiration as a backdrop for the campaign.”

And why not, when the landscape of dreams looms all around? A striking Lisbon to compliment a bride at her most magnificent.
