Meet our beautiful bride Stephanie who recently had a fairytale wedding in our Fiona gown. Stephanie sent us her stunning photos from her wedding this month and is radiating happiness in each photo. It was such a pleasure for the team to see how stunning Stephanie looked on her special day and to know that we had a special contribution to such a heartwarming moment in her life. We are all in awe with these photos shot by talented photographer Matt Ramos. We had the opportunity to get exclusive details about Stephanies’s wedding day. Find out how she found her dress, met her husband, and the highlight from the ceremony below!
“When I began the dress hunt I was excited, but for the most part I used to find wedding gowns all looking the same one way or another. Every dress I tried on I didn’t get the WOW feeling, or chills as some people say. Then one day my mom called me downstairs, and said come look at this website, and it was Galia Lahav. I had NEVER seen wedding gowns that looked this way, and I knew right away I needed to find the closest store to try on these gorgeous wedding dresses. Everything about Galia Lahav’s dresses is a girls dream. Her detail, the feel, and the WOW factor are all there. Luckily I only live 2 1/2 hours from NYC, and Bridal Reflections on 5th Ave had the FIONA. I knew this was the dress from the moment I saw it online. In my head before I saw the Fiona, I said i wanted a dress that had an amazing back, and mermaid. The Fiona is that, but so much more. The moment I tried it on in the store I said to my mom, this is the ONE, chills and ALL. So she made the call to my dad, and the rest is history.”
“Where to begin on my husband. We have known each other for YEARS, but it always seemed the timing was never right. We met through my sisters, husbands, restaurant back when we were in high school. He was working as a waiter, and I obviously was in there quite a bit having dinner with my family. It always seemed to go he had a girlfriend, and I had a boyfriend. We played this cat and mouse game for about 5 years before we had our first real date. After that first date we were pretty much inseparable and wondered why it took us so long to realize how we felt. I knew he was the one, because I had never had a man make me hate him one second, but have my heart pounding with butterflies the next. He always keeps me on my tippy toes, and maybe even a bit higher. He truly is the love of my life.”
Where did you get married and can you tell us about your wedding day?
“We got married on May 23rd, 2015 at Franklin Plaza. It is located in Troy, NY. We have quite a bit of history at this venue, because my sister had her Bat Mitzvah there, and she also got married there back in 2010. This venue never disappoints, and they certainly did a fantastic job on our wedding day. My wedding day was just what I had hoped for. PERFECT weather at 70 degrees and sunny. There were no hiccups, nothing. We had photographers, videographers, coordinators…. you name it. Everyone was so helpful, and made the day go by so smooth. My husband and I each had 8 groomsman, and bridesmaids. Both groups of friends get a long well so it was a lot of fun. It seemed that the day was a big blur, and people always tell you how all the planning and time spent to make the wedding happen goes by in a blink of an eye, and it truly does. The gratification comes from the pictures, the warm wishes, the comments all after the wedding. I really think everyone had a great time, including my husband and I. I wish we could have a wedding once a year”
I would have to say the highlight of my day is our first look. My husband and I decided to see each other before the wedding ceremony began. Our photographer setup a situation where I would walk up behind my husband and tap him to let him know he could finally see his bride. It basically is a photographers dream situation to have. There is so much emotion leading up to this moment, and I remember shaking walking up to my husband, Sal. When he finally turned around to see me, we both started hysterically laughing and crying at the same time. It was a moment that can never be replaced. It felt like a fairy tale, and the pictures from that moment truly speak a thousand words.
